When describing the big things in your world, also remember to include the kind of small, human details that will make it feel real. Graffiti. A drunk's pool of vomit. The safety card in the back of the seat.

Your characters are banned, from a place, or engaging in a certain activity. What clever work around do they find?

Okay, #Writers. Who are you using for your covers? Drop me some recommendations for cover artists (maybe a link to their work, or just a chance to post your books). Not interested in people who do their own covers.

Someone points out something really obvious. Your characters are stunned.

Off to the Tamar Valley Author's Market today to sell my books. It's a local farmer's market, but they have little themes for the mid-month market. Apparently, there will be at least two writers present. Head a long to Beaconsfield in the extremely unlikely event you read this and live in Northern #Tasmania.

Your characters are tasked with finding something. This is somehow unreasonably difficult.

A character doesn't appear to be evil, or even significant, but they keep turning up, and keep messing things up for the other characters. Also, this weekend, I get to play me some #BoardGames! Yay!

Your characters misunderstand how something works.
What superstitions exist in your world? How might your characters run up against them? Will the prove true or false?

Sent my latest book out to my reviewers. This is always the nervy part because they are people who will tell it like it is. They've been full of praise, with some caveats, for my last few books. Here's hoping this one lives up to the standard. I think it's brilliant, of course, but then I'm biased.

Emerland. Another version of Everdell. This was fun. Though I've never played the base game, I like the way this version builds momentum and the helpers having multiple uses is interesting.

How often do you use pure, blind luck as a plot device? Do you include randomness in your stories at all? It might make them more realistic, but it's often unsatisfying for the readers.

@webhat@infosec.exchange I like the different levels of the upgrade path with the harps, but the archaeology experience feels very tacked-on. It doesn't really feed back to the village experience properly.
