@ascentale@sfba.social @jerzone@techhub.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social #bikenite A6: this is most of the stuff: tyre levers, hex keys in all the appropriate sizes, spanner for the wheel bearings, chain tool, mini cassette tool, replacement valve cap which seals airtight in case of a leaky valve, some spare fasteners brake pads and an only very slightly bent hanger. There's also a separate plastic box with a replacement TPU tube and a selection of TPU tube patches, and a Lezyne mini pump on the frame, plus a mini pair of locking pliers.

@teadrinker@aus.social We were at a friend's place and all their chooks in the henhouse were going nuts so we looked in and they were all sitting in their nest boxes which seemed odd because they should have been out foraging so we had a closer look and in one of the boxes, sitting on a couple of eggs and trying to avoid eye contact, was a large and sleek Australian Raven.

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org looks like maybe it was designed for a different [freewheel], like a 5 speed or something? That bend in the seatstay can't be accidental or the whole frame would be wonky as hell.

@ascentale @xtaran @bikenite #bikenite A1: G'day from Melbourne, Australia where yesterday was perfect and today is a bit ominously humid, but either way it doesn't feel like late Autumn. Anyway. I've got an LED headlight on the bars which has an external 4x18650 battery pack which fits in my frame bag. During the day I'll use that as a strobe, after dark I use it as a steady-on headlight and stick a smaller white light on as a strobe. I have the lights mounted with cable ties to make them annoying to steal, when the bike is in the garage I have a bundle of USB cables hanging from the rafters to plug them all in :-)

@tezoatlipoca @ori @neauoire 1/1000th of an inch is also sometimes called a "mil" which is a smidge confusing if you're used to a "millimeter" being called a "mil". 1/10000th of an inch is sometimes called a "tenth". Also there's an angular unit called a "milliradian" which is 1/1000th of a radian and is also called a "mil".

@xtaran @ascentale @bikenite @rasterweb The LEDs are about 1W each but I'm running them on a small duty cycle. They're paired up, 1 and 3 vs 2 and 4. The ESP32-C3 board (center) is massive overkill but lets me play around with different light patterns in MicroPython. I should write these adventures up as a little blog article.

@hanno if you just want numbers and not formulae, python's scipy.stats.binom.cdf(k,n,p) function returns the probability that if you choose n bits with probability p of being true, at most k of them will be true.

So, eg: binom.cdf(40,100,0.5) = 0.02844 so if you pick 100 bits, there's a 2.84% chance there'll be 40 or fewer true, and also a 2.84% chance there'll be 40 or fewer false.

By the way, if anyone has somehow found this post because they have the same problem, I think it's because sometimes there's a pop-up strip at the bottom of the apple TV page in Firefox which asks me to confirm I'm still in Australia and if I X it away it still has menus and previews and stuff but upon playing an actual episode it throws this error until I exit the browser and go back in and hit okay on the strip to confirm then everything works again. PS: I don't really approve of these shenanigans but Pluribus is rather good.
