My daughter is still on her sewing kick, and is now making her own clothe. She made this belt out of retired climbing webbing. Used a sewing machine to add the star pattern using white thread.

Today's bike ride to work sucked. Wearing a respirator for 30 minutes isn't very comfortable. I had to adjust it a few times and it was much worse breathing in the wildfire smoke so respirator it is.
I can only assume our climate will get worse as time goes on so I figured I might want to get used to this.

@foolishowl@social.coop I answer almost every call I get, recite my script (including “This call is being monitored and recorded for quality assurance”) and over 95% of the time they hang up on me.

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org 417 AQI here right now... a friend in the northern part of Wisconsin said it was over 600 yesterday.
I've been made aware of Shaky Hands, a queer-owned union print shop in Milwaukee. Might need to get some stickers made!

I just learned about the Laguna Garzón Bridge in Uruguay and it's pretty cool!

(Also, one of my neighbors is from Uruguay so I'm sort of interested in learning more about it.)
The power screwdriver I bought three years ago for $35 USD is now $50 USD.

@Karstan@pdx.social Oh yeah, but all these reports I read are that teens (who do not have a drivers license or even much experience cycling) just do not know the rules of the road or trail etiquette which can be a major safety hazard for themselves and others.
I'm all for micromobility but also like safe and responsible behavior. 😁
I passed this kid riding what looks to be an emoto on the Oak Leaf Trail this morning.
He was not riding like a dick, but definitely not pedaling, just throttle all the way.
This is on part of the trail that is typically pretty empty, and this was around 7:15am.
Didn't seem to be going crazy fast either so, eh... whatever.

@benroyce@mastodon.social 💯 Yes. Voting is one tool we can use. There are others as well. :)
I feel bad for any punk band touring the Midwest this week in a 20 year old van that doesn't have working AC.

@hrw@society.oftrolls.com @geerlingguy@mastodon.social I don't think of myself as a "Bambu Lab User" (though I suppose technically I am.)
I've personally owned 4 or 5 different brands (Bambu, Prusa, Monoprice, Ender) and built a RepRap in 2011.
Bambu got *a lot* right that others companies just could not, as far as quality and speed... openeness? Not as much.
And every (tech) choice is a tradeoff: price, quality, speed, openness, repairability, etc.
