I had a quick look at the original post for this.
What actually happened was that the 80% off code it generated didn't work. The customer placed the order and put the code in a notes field demanding that it be honoured. The chat bot didn't have the ability to actually give discounts.
So while it's funny to read, in this case, the customer is just chancing it and I'd imagine any reasonable small claims court would not side with them.

In the UK, if you found a TV with a sticker on saying it was only £10 when others around it said they were £1000, the shop could refuse to sell it to you (assuming it was a mistake), apologise and that would be it. They're under no obligation to sell it to you.
Plus your statement says "salesperson" - what's the law on whether a chat bot counts as a salesperson or not? I don't think they've been around long enough for there to be a large body of case law on it.

No-one can ban AI slop from the Fediverse, but people can choose to use platforms that don't allow it so they know their feeds will be cleaner.

One of the guys on my street has one and for historical reasons his parking space is in front of my house. I lived in fear that he’d get a cybertruck and people would think the wankpanzer was mine. Fortunately they’re still not legal over here, so I think I dodged that bullet!

The opposite of this is nested folders inside nested folders inside nested folders, quite often with hilariously long folder names each time. Then they wonder why they can’t open their files and I have to explain - again - that NTFS has a 254ish character limit AND HAS FOR THE LAST QUARTER OF A CENTURY.
So personally, I’d rather they kept everything in a single folder, because I’m not the one that will be searching for their documents.

I think I'm officially Too Old to be going to the pub after playing in a concert on a school night.
Normally we do them on a Saturday, but yesterday being Star Wars Day (and a. bank holiday) and the concert theme being "They Came From Outer Space", we just couldn't resist.
Now having to WFH and hope I don't fall asleep at my desk...

Don’t forget, it’s 100 dollarpounds cheaper for education, and it’s more repairable. I think Apple are banking on schools replacing fleets of crappy Chromebooks with these.
Can you honestly say that after 3 years of MacOS you’d consider switching to Windows, if you don’t play a lot of games or need certain Windows-only applications?
I’ve been a Windows user all my life and an IT professional for half of it (3.11 to date) and I can honestly say that if it wasn’t required at work, I would be happy never using Windows again. I certainly don’t have it on any personal devices.
My £800 16GB RAM HP work machine is dogshit slow just to get to the desktop and load OneDrive. We’re talking minutes. It’s less than 40 seconds on my Air.
If my mother breaks her (hand-me-down) M1 Air, she’d be more than happy with a Neo.
