@jerzone @music I love that! Found something similar when I was also cutting down a dead tree. Also had grapevines all over it but I don't know if that was the cause of death

@steevmi1 @arclight I'm a sysadmin at a web hosting company and can confirm the "fiefdoms" thing. Also a lot to what we do is abstracted into tools and wrappers which I think is a change from the way things used to be done in general. FWIW we do have testing servers and clusters to minimize issues when going live

@yannseznec @Binder this has absolutely blown my mind. I have so many questions. did you make the boxes? what's inside them - some arduinos or something similar? or maybe PT2399s? what are the strings hooked to?
amazing work, I love this ❤️

@jsstaedtler@mastodon.art I've been using Iocaine, which is specifically intended to mess with AI bots, but it can also help with "normal" bots too
https://iocaine.madhouse-project.org/
of course that still eats up some of your server's power. I work for a web hosting company and frequently we'll just make a list of "bad bots" in an .htaccess file to block them. The server still has to reply to their requests but doesn't have to serve them any real data

maybe a niche question, but...
in #minecraft, does anybody know how to have a command block output a redstone signal?
My end goal is to create a delay between a block receiving redstone and the block sending redstone out. I can do this with a ton of repeaters but I wonder if there's an easier way
