Started using to 'summarize my email and chat messages from yesterday until today' - seemed to be working pretty well. saved me 30 minutes of obsessive email and chat scouring. I still glance at the messages myself, but no longer to the same level of diligence I had been for the last decade since becoming a senior specialist.
Fast forward to friday, where its feedback was 'you are OOO today (i was not) and that the deployment to integration QA was a resounding success (it had failed)' i had a laugh, perused messages, nothing jumped out, went on with my day.
10am the Domain Architect pings me asking how the P0 raised from yesterday is coming along.
Not only had Jira not updated to include the defect raised, it went entirely missed by both gen AI as well as my cursory review of the over 500 messages I received from the previous day.
Luckily my QA was diligent and had already started the recreation, and intellisense with call heirarchy allowed me to quickly and efficiently resolve the issue, but holy fuck folks, that was almost my 21 year career.
so yeah. #genAI is going fucking great.

It was 70 degrees out yesterday.
That is super concerning on alot of levels, but it did mean we could take 15 year old scout out to get his walk on in the woods.

Scoutydog was unresponsive last night. Walked into him having a dream about running, sat and gave pets for 10 minutes until realizing he wasnt waking up. Wife sat vigil till 3am after which he started to get up and about.
Up and running this morning. #EndOfLifeCare in general is not something western society prepares well for, #pet included.
#grief and #joy with a side of #exhaustion.

@pattykimura @AndrewRadev arguably much much worse, in that the very methods of getting the "critical bodies on the problem" has been compromised. There is no way to get past the machines we have put before us without a phone call.
That is a massive degradation of scale, when there are 5 teams of engineers any one of whom may require my input to solve a critical business issue.
Dark times ahead, and by that I mean less sleep and more toil.

@GroupNebula563@mastodon.social I mean. You can host a dns anywhere and set your servers to use it, but nobody is going to chain into you. If you want the rest of the internet to change that ip you have to go through your name registrar. They can allow subdomains and the like to resolve to your dns so long as those are owned by you.

@GroupNebula563@mastodon.social Im really unclear on what you are trying to accomplish here; if it is just updating a single domain on your personal dns server, you can submit the nsupdate command. Then offer that up on the web so it is accessible by any of your systems.
"People to be able to manually use the server to change the ip for a hostname" is ambiguous. What people. If it is the internet at large, they have to point to your dns or you need to be in the dns trust chain heirarchy, otherwise you are just asking how to run a dns poisoning attack, which, if thats what you want, go ahead and read up on those.

we are not the intended audience - the middle class was made powerless with the capital capture of QE by the oligarchs in '08. Once you grasp that, it all makes sense.
