@nini @ChrisMayLA6 definitely underwhelming performance, but i dont think in general there is a great deal of buyers remorse, especially if you look back and ask "who would i have voted for instead back then?" my guess is frustration at the disappointment will translate into low turnout and a lot of green and reform wins despite the fascism on display.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run i thoroughly hate the idea of creepy people walking around surreptitiously filming everyone they see. or the potential use of smart glasses as a kind of mobile face recognition and surveillance network. however, the general idea of domething you wear like glasses that can process what the wearer is looking at is an amazing accessibility tool. augmented reslity glasses are also used in some complex engineering settings such as aircraft maintenance. regulation should be about the unconfined "mass-data" and online aspects of these.

The problem we have these days, is that Meta ultimately dont do anything without it being good for them, and the harms are irrelevant to them if it makes them money.

@Shrigglepuss@godforsaken.website @davidgerard@circumstances.run if someone is determined to be a creepy wierdo by filming people without thier knowledge and these glasses are banned, they will just go back to what they did before, little cameras in a hat, or bag strap. much better would be to make thier use for unwanted stuff be obvious, like the fake camera shutter sound phones are required to have in many countries, perhaps a glowing red "record" light for these?
