@mlanger@mastodon.world @Bredroll@mas.to did you ever hear of Wing Commander Ken Wallis? He was really into his autogyro's & was flying them into his 90's.

@dawne314@mas.to Yes, very good music. We grew up with the protestant narrative, the bombings, the check points etc, so it was great watching it as an adult with some distance. I don't know if you know but the writer Lisa McGee has also done a series for Netflix called "How to get to heaven from Belfast". Not seen it yet, we're waiting to blitz it when we've got a bit of time.

@dawne314@mas.to great to see it transfers to other audiences. We loved it, but both of us were their ages during "the troubles", so it really resonates.

@TheBreadmonkey@beige.party they were 50 years too late to steal a march on the fruit based car!

@ianbetteridge@social.vivaldi.net @cap_ybarra@beige.party wasn't someone building a rather large one?

@chloeraccoon@mastodonapp.uk @TheBreadmonkey@beige.party @darac@furry.engineer no, Edd wasn't born when these came out. They made a few for promotional work in the 70s based on minis.

@chloeraccoon@mastodonapp.uk @TheBreadmonkey@beige.party @darac@furry.engineer thanks, didn't realise. Only really followed him when he started out as he lived down the road from us, started on Beetles, then the sofa....

@chloeraccoon@mastodonapp.uk @TheBreadmonkey@beige.party @darac@furry.engineer I'll have to take a look later, thank you for that. There was one at Beaulieu motor museum we saw on a school trip, I'm guessing Edd probably did too being a car nut, and not far from the new forest.

@georgepenney@sunny.garden Hi George, I'm not the most observant of people & have been loving your commentary on NZ life for quite a while now, however today I learnt that you wrote OverLondon, a book I really enjoyed & was gutted at the time there was only one in the series. So, in short thanks very much, & please get a shift on for the next!
