Lol, I moved instances 2 weeks ago and have only just now noticed I have quadrupled my character limit in doing so. Look out kids! 🤪

Lovely lunch here with old friends, they've only just left at 6pm. And omg... my coconut and pandan ice cream was pretty bloody good if I say so myself.

This is outrageous. And the fact that Albanese is quite happy with it (while loudly supporting Ukraine) is a disgrace. Zionism eh? Genocide FTW. #Palestine #UNGA #Zionism #AusPol

Day started with a cat vomit, yay. Then the roofers arrived next door, AGAIN, so I shall be replanting the succulents for a third time this arvo I reckon.
Next up: some food prep for tomorrow's lunch guests, then some housework and a bit of last minute shopping.
Food theme for tomorrow: Vietnamese BBQ. Meaty marinated things on sticks, Asian salad, rice, some home made sauces, then coconut pandan icecream with mango. 👌

@treleanor@aus.social @sortius@beige.party @graemeinnes@mastodon.social If you read that piece in the Sat Paper on the weekend it all becomes clear: Albanese has pretty much killed off the factions, which means there's no pushback to his neoliberal agenda. He's ruined the Labor brand, and it's not likely to recover any time soon. Opens the door to One Nation. Hopeless. #AusPol

2/. Churned the coconut and pandan custard this morning, I think it's going to be an excellent ice cream, both flavour and texture.
I have a load of apples in the dehydrator.
Made zucchini, feta and dill fritters for lunch, yum.
Made a start on tonight's pumpkin dal but I need a cuppa and a lie-down. 🫖

Bogongs eh? How do they get into the house? We have 5 fluttering about, so we've retreated to the bedroom, turned off all the lights in the rest of the house, opened the balcony doors, and turned the balcony lights on.... 🤞

Jeeeezuz.... electricity bill just landed. We were in credit last time (solar panels, no battery), this one: $500. Winter, sure, but the house sitter must have had the reverse cycle going for the whole 8 weeks. 😱

Just been out to water the succulent cuttings I guerilla gardened in front of our neighbour's house (it's a wasteland), and found them squashed under a pile of roof tiles and half dry cement, presumably after the tradies were pressure spraying and repairing his roof the other day. Bastards. Pulled it all off, fixed them up and watered them. Stephen won't even notice, he doesn't get out much and isn't into gardens, but I was hoping to make his front entrance a bit more attractive. Grrrr....

Sipping a very underwhelming Lagavulin 11yo #whisky. Bloody Diageo, they ruined a fabulous budding Aussie whisky distillery (Starward), and now they've killed the Lag (Islay, Scotland). Needless to say, the worst whisky in the world is also theirs: Johnny Walker, ew....
Everything they touch turns to shit.

Back to back concerts tonight, from 5pm. That's a long time to go without food at dinner time. Himself has already eaten (another story) so I have whipped myself up a Japanese rice and tofu thing for the mini rice cooker, currently whirring. I will need to take some snacks though. It's one of those rare situations where one of the concerts is his very own choir but which he is not singing in (we were away for half the rehearsals).

Thank you Laura Tingle! Criticising Albanese's pathetic lack of support for #Palestine at the #UNGA. #AusPol

@InsurgoFormica@aus.social It's been watered down, literally, and the exciting experimentation it started out with (? 15 yrs ago?) has been stopped. It lacks the flavour and variety it was initially famous for, and most of it's been watered down to 40%. Diageo has dropped them now but 11 yrs of their bullshit has ruined the brand.

@Estrella@dragonscave.space @bermudianbrit@mastodon.online Islay!! Great food, drink (distilleries and a brewery), scenery, walks, live music in a couple of pubs. Plenty of BnBs and small village pubs with accomm. No crowds.
