@Elizafox@social.treehouse.systems people around here put rice in salt to avoid it coagulating so that it comes nicely out of the tiny dispenser holes, at least since the early 90's that I remember probably the practice is much older. So I guess this goes back to before electronics.

I don't know what happened in the ottoman period but it is now again basic education around here. If we count the ottoman years (it's possible they continued to study it in greek-speaking regions) we're getting closer to 3000.
I guess the modifications stopped at some point, but sure, the scribes kept copying it, I guess even after the invention of typography.

@liaizon@social.wake.st you have to logout and log in again unfortunately. I tried it with different container tabs and I can successfully be logged in to two accounts at the same time, but it doesn't do that by itself.
My instance has a hardcoded imap server so it only asks for username and password but normally you can set up your server on the login screen.
Sorry if I misled you into the wrong path, I didn't initially think of simultaneous logins at all.

@axbom I have a brother QL-800. It also has proprietary labels but no drm, it has just a pattern printed on the back. There is a hack that allows you to use any roll but there are lots of compatible rolls in the market at reasonable prices.
There is a linux driver afaik but I prefer using it with brother-ql from pypi, which prints an image directly, without going through CUPS.

It's 1.5-2.0€ per liter here though, and that's why all those "efficiency" regulations do nothing about the CO² in the atmosphere. People will burn what they can afford, just like induced demand in freeways.

It certainly allows for multiple accounts with one install, but I'm not sure if you can view them in the same window like, say, evolution.

I was refreshing my history of the eastern roman empire by listening recently to the history of byzantium podcast and the internal squabbles seemed to intensify just about when the external danger was higher or when the empire was in decline.
And the new emperor was acting each time like he was the most powerful emperor ever.
