I know nothing about React Native save for the fact that it exists, but the Native in it made me feel like it would use React DSL but compile into a native application which would avoid the browser overhead.

No. It means that Tuba does not need to be running for you to receive notifications for it. When you receive a notification, you can start Tuba if you want to act on it. Or just ignore the notification and Tuba remains closed.

@sushimcpe@possum.city I found that the hassle of installing a third party OS is simply not worth the hassle. Since it is a handheld console and you won't always have ready access to mouse or keyboard, when stuff breaks it can be very annoying. I used cachyos for a bit which is less stable than bazzite and ran across two instances where stuff broke (once the power button became unresponsive and once the display manager broke). Fixing stuff like this on a handheld console is annoying as shit.
My main aim here was to install a mutable distro so I could install any app I want but it sort of backfired. For this reason I did not consider Bazzite, because Bazzite did not provide any specific advantages that appealed to me.
On the Steam Deck I mainly need these non-steam things to work:
Tailscale: their installation script works fine for thisSyncthing: I downloaded their binary release and created a user level service. It updated automatically and works perfectly.
Anything else I need I try to get as an appimage or a flatpak.
But please don't let me dissuade you from experimenting. It is fun in its own right. Experience is a better teacher than words of random strangers. So if something looks appealing feel free to try it.

@sue I got burnout just from looking at that spec.md file. Who would ever want to write 2k lines of spec as the very first step. I feel like writing spec without testing it against reality (by materialising it as code) would lead to an immense number of mistakes.

@davidgerard@circumstances.run I'm wondering if the "human error" part is total bullshit or not. Bun lets you configure the creation of source maps via a variable. Then I am assuming npm must have a property for excluding certain files while packaging.
Source map leakage is pretty common. But usually it is something that happens on day 1 until it is fixed. If it appears out of the blue I lean more towards an LLM doing this. Plus the Claude guy himself says it is 100% vibe coded with no qualifiers.

@yonle akkoma has a really nice feature where you can hide bot posts from timelines. It makes the federated timeline usable (at least on smaller instances) because half the posts there are usually from bots.
