It's actually completely normal for people to expect their politicians to have better politics than them.

Having good politics is literally a politician's entire job. That is what they are supposed to be contributing to society. You don't do 40+ hours of work a week just to also have to do your politicians' jobs for them.

Politicians are supposed to figure out what is good for their constituents and for their country and act accordingly. They are not supposed to mindlessly bounce from position to position based on the latest public opinion poll. They do good politics so that the rest of the populace doesn't have to.

The average person cannot be expected to be an expert on politics. They do not have the time to be an expert on politics. That is why we have an entire class of people whose entire job is to be experts on politics.

That the working class is expected to not only contribute more than their fair share to society and to master good politics and to protest and petition to make sure the buffoons they elect to office act engage in good politics is absurd! You are asking millions of people to do a job that could easily be done by a handful!

I keep seeing liberals bragging about cops praising No Kings protests for being peaceful, and like… baby, if the cops are on your side, you’re not at a protest. You’re marching in a state sanctioned parade.

That is what these “protests” are. Parades. They’re not being used to organize further, more significant action; they’re not making any demands; the only thing they seek to accomplish is making people feel good about themselves despite the rising tide of fascism, despite doing nothing to combat it.

I’m not going to tell you that anything but instant revolution is meaningless, but we need to be doing something. We can’t just go for a walk with a sign for an hour or two every few months and tell ourselves we’re Doing Our Part. The government does not care about anything we have to say. Simply raising our voices is not enough. We need a general strike.

The thing that baffles me about Lexi Alexander's pro-Platner crashout is that she admits that she doesn't believe that he's pro-Palestine.

*Really* fucking wish I'd saved the Facebook post where I called out Israel's genocidal intent within a few days of October 7th.

But, thankfully, there are more than enough examples of other leftists doing the same. We knew it was a genocide from day one, when Israelis *told* us that it was going to be a genocide. We knew it was a genocide when we watched Biden go out of his way to spread myths about beheaded babies - which the White House had to clarify were unsubstantiated - and removing restrictions on arms sales to Israel. We knew it was a genocide when we watched children be blown apart on Tiktok while Kamala Harris praised Israel and defended its "right to defend itself."

Meanwhile, liberals are still wringing their hands about the 'definition of genocide', or claiming that it wasn't a genocide until Trump took office, to this day.

So no, liberals did not warn us about shit. Kamala did not warn us about shit. The left warned this entire goddamn country, and y'all decided to shrug your shoulders and defend a genocidal regime. Everything that's happening now is a result of that.
