Harris voter - don't complain to me if you weren't.
Quit Xitter, came here. Love the idea of social media not controlled by a corporation.
I follow art, history, science, #Esperanto, #MardiPatisserie, and capybaras.
I try to contribute to political action here, but end up very grumpy.
Also, I "won" this: 🏆 for answering a Perl programming language question posed by another user. I display it with pride.

Note to male colleague: When you find yourself in this situation, do not return the look of the candidate. Direct your gaze at your female colleague. It makes it clear that she's the one the answer should be directed to, and perhaps the candidate might figure this out.
Also: not just for interview situations.
Also also: still don't hire the guy.

Wait, these aren't the Epstein files that were released (as promised)?
I thought "UFO" was some legalistic acronym, for "Underage Fornication Offenses", or something like that. Yeah, release those files.

I think I'm morally required to back this, in repayment for the number of times I've ended online conversations with "You are very intelligent".

I don't know what her ultimate goal should be, but she should definitely visit the beach of left foot shoes and later, the beach of right foot shoes.
(I may have stolen this idea from an actual popular science book about ocean currents.)

Just a heads up that it isn't always a ring - mine wasn't.
But mine was angry, purple, and quickly getting HUGE, along with a weird fever, so I got it checked out early.
The CDC has (had?) a gallery showing a variety of rashes that it may look like. And mine was in there.

A friend read this as a teen, and recently got a hankering to re-read it. He lent it to me.
(Note: There's some old 1970s gender stuff that is rather 1970s. Make sure to get the updated version and read the author's note at the end to make that better. I won't say anything more, lest I do spoilers. 🤐)

I (USAian) have read previously of the vast fleet of differing words you UKers use to name what we call a "bun". Glad to see the spirit lives on.

The second half is what tells you they don't actually believe the first.
It's like a Christian proclaiming the immanent Rapture and investing in their 401k - their actions put the lie to their words.

If you want something more sit-down and unwind, nearby on Boylston there are some excellent choices.
I can recommend Mita (Italian), Sweet Cheeks (bbq), and Eventide (seafood).

There are also different varieties of Democrats. There are some who are doing what they can to work within the system, and some are self-interested power grabbers who will sell us out in a second - Tulsi Gabbard and that guy from WV were both "Democrats".
We all agree that stuff is bad. And we're all having times of despair. But people who go from there to shitting on those who are trying to use the tools we do have just get muted by me now.

I think I qualify as one of those liberals. I've done the "cut off from CBS, NYTimes, WaPo, ..." part, and am now looking for better sources.
I miss the feeling of being informed, but I figure it's better, at least for the moment, to be ignorant than to be deceived.

I'm glad that you are thinking about the ethical implications. I agree that you are in no way trying to defraud anyone.
But with so much of AI being based on non-consensual takings I think it would be great if you made it your personal standard to think more about consent, even if, as I agree with you, it's probably not mandatory.
Admittedly, the odds of you getting consent from Swift are low, and you'd have to not post content based on her. It's a choice, without a clear answer.

It takes quite a bit of energy to pretend that they might do otherwise. I've decided to stop wasting it on going along with the pretense.

What's worse is the people who refuse to use the democrats as a pathway to fixing things.
BTW, I've never heard anyone say "all we have to do is get the D's back in and it will all be okay". Admittedly I don't have a super-diverse set of people I discuss politics with, but I'm beginning to wonder if such people actually exist.

Yup. Does Mastodon have a feature to mute all the replies to this account too, in addition to the account?
(Using Tusky, if that matters.)

QUEUE has always been my nominee. Curious to see what other say.
(I occasionally did German wordle, where ZWERG is a valid guess, and I couldn't help noticing how bad that would be for English. ZWOLF might even be worse.)
