Other things:
• I endured abuses pretty much from birth through my mid-30's when I left the last of it and had to leave my stepsons.

I lived with a MinPin who was like that!
Best dog ever was BFF's miniature Schnauzer. She taught him to not beg, and he absolutely didn't. But, he would sneak looks to see if he was going to get anything. If she caught him, all she had to do was make eye contact and he'd get that guilty look and quickly turn his head with a sigh.
It was hilarious, but we couldn't laugh at him or he'd go into a full-on pout.

When the alimony stopped being automatically withdrawn, my father started having his 2nd wife (who he cheated on Mama with) sign and mail the checks.

Many, MANY sound tracks. Mostly 70's rock with a bit of country and my Mama's love for classical and her childhood music. For moods, there's Motown, jazz, and R&B. Of course, there are also musicals.

Yeah, but I want mine to be keyless. A really good latch should do. And, rather than poison, I think mine would hold a couple really potent weed seeds so no matter where I was married off to, I could grow my own.

Pfft. The only one I can't do is whistle. I've tried and tried, but I just end up blowing air through my lips. Sometimes it sounds like a rush of wind, others like I'm giving someone a razzberry.
I stopped trying because people would look at me, making weird noises.

Marc Elias of Democracy Docket is one of the most effective lawyers and explainers of law, who has been holding TFG to account in the courts. He nearly single handedly proved that the 2020 election was NOT STOLEN and is currently defending voting rights.
He recently interviewed Hillary Clinton about TFG's and R's politics, voting and civil rights, and the midterms. Excellent (long) read.

Of course, I'd have to actually go to a bar first... Gave those up because I always ended up attracting the drunk at the bar who's been there all day, and so hasn't been sober for a while, and is at the point they've gotten handsy and I have to beat them away. 🤷♀️

I'm disabled, on a very limited income. Two things I've managed to continue are my monthly donations to the SPLC and the ACLU. It's not much, but I still feel good about doing it. They're the only two membership cards I carry in my wallet.

We had a cat that actually DID learn how to ring the doorbell. It was back in the day when physical chimes were used, and we had to remove them for a while so she could unlearn it. (She learned to jiggle the door handle.)
She also learned to scare the piss out of my mama by jumping up on the outside sill of the kitchen window while mama was getting water for her coffee.

There have been MANY times this administration has made me ashamed to be American. This was one.
I have a hard time trying to argue with people who want to exterminate other people.
I just don't understand the Republican obsession with genitalia. Studies show there's no advantage for trans women in sports (no, I don't have links), so we know it's not really that. And we know trans women don't go into bathrooms looking for other women to attack/rape/abuse.
What is it? 🤷♀️

People forget that Catholics were as superstitious as everyone else, not that very long ago.
Growing up in the 70's, my brother who has cerebral palsy and can't use his right hand, heard it all. Left handedness was a sign of the devil. He was *conditionally* accepted into seminary because they had to make sure the deformities of his body didn't deform the word of God.
The church made a lot of rules to stave off superstitions. (And to trap people, but that's another subject...)

I would have been SO traumatized! And I was such an athletic tomboy type with short hair I very well might have aroused suspicion.
I don't think cis women realize how often this may happen to them in bathrooms, or their kids at school. We can easily be challenged, too. What's gonna happen with a "Karen" who accuses out of hate, or a young "Karen" accusing your daughter in order to hopefully take their place on a sports team?

I was probably just as confused, but in a different way.
Mama had a collection of 78's. We had albums that were 33-1/3's, or 45's for singles. It seemed the turntable was always at the wrong speed and nobody checked it before the needle hit, causing all kinds of "chipmunk" or slo-mo sounds. And sometimes it was done on purpose.
(We also learned how to record radio to cassettes, then how to burn CD's.)
With his Bible readings, Trump is doubling down on his God complex. Somehow, evangelical Christians are buying it
