A lot of noise about the UK State Pension increase today.
British OAPs from Apr 2027 to get an extra £7.60 a week if they have no other income
Apr 2027 Pension : £13,036.40
Tax-free : £12,570
Taxable : £13,036.40 - £12,570 = £466.40
20% Tax Owed : 20% on £466.40 = £93.28
Actual Pension Increase in your hand : £466.40 - £93.28 = 373.12
Approx 7.60 a WEEK!
Would you begrudge your grandparent(s) this extra a week. In reality that and more will be eaten up by general utility/food etc increases anyway.
