Fake references. While peer-reviewing an academic paper, I checked the reference list and found that around 80% of the cited sources simply do not exist. It seems highly likely that they were fabricated by GenAI. This isn't a mistake. It's academic misconduct. Brazen, lazy, and profoundly unethical. This is an abuse of the peer-review process and a waste of reviewers' time. #NoGenAI #FakeReferences #Spookreferenties

I almost didn’t dare, but I did it: harvesting the chillies! 🌶️

It’s a small harvest because I really want to leave the chillies on the plants for as long as possible and only pick the ones that are truly ripe.

Curious to see how they’ll taste! 😊

Sometimes I just need to take my mind off things. And what better way to do that than making chilli sauce with a dear friend? 🌶️
A little cooking and a lot of chilli later… somehow things feel a bit lighter.
🌕 Yellow chilli sauce:
Lemon Drop or other yellow chillies, carrots, onion, garlic & oil.
❤️ Red chilli sauce:
Siberian House Pepper, UFO chilli or other red chillies, red pepper, garlic & oil.

A year ago, I tried to walk this mountain lake trail but couldn’t finish due to LongCOVID. Last weekend, with a dear friend, I finally completed the whole route. 🥾🏔️
So happy, and very grateful to my wonderfully patient friend for organising everything, including plenty of breaks at beautiful spots, good food and enough water. ❤️

History is repeating itself. Today is the day of the government elections in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, and the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD) is predicted to win 44.5% of the votes. This makes them the strongest party in parliament.

I am crying and furious at the same time. 'No tomorrow for fascists' (slogan of the today's demonstration in Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt).

Begroetingskus 💋
Ik schrok me kapot. 😂

While I wasn't paying attention, my chilli plants are doing odd things! 🌶️ One fruit is green and finger-sized, but all the others are tiny and black. Any idea why they're growing so differently? I got these seeds in a swap from a friend in Germany. The envelope was labelled “Buschpfeffer”. @gardening@fedigroups.social #ChilliGrowing #chilli #chili #chilies #Plantjournal #plants #growing #gardening #SeedExchange

Early this morning, activists began blocking one of the main access roads to the conference venue in Erfurt, where the far-right AfD party is due to hold its conference. Protesters from across Germany have travelled to the city in an effort to stop the conference. The AfD became one of the largest parties in the 2024 election in Thuringia. Elections will be held next September in neighbouring Saxony-Anhalt. #Activism #Antifa #Widersetzen #Erfurt #NoAfD #erfurt0407 #ef0407 @widersetzen_ticker@mastodon.de

Pandemic Care without states 12 Prefigurative Practices in Supplying Well-Being from Below (digital)

"When the pandemic first began and the world suddenly shut down, I saw promise in the ways that many people leaned into anarchistic practices. Sure, I became bleakly depressed because of the mass abandonment of so many of us by, say, capitalism, and narratives about isolation that were twisted by individualism, authoritarianism, and heteronormative ideas of kinship. I hated, for example, the use of the phrase “social distancing” versus what we should have insisted on calling “physical distancing

* The Well of Loneliness van Radclyffe Hall
