@lemay Have you met Pumpkin? He found his way to our house (and hearts) in 2011... skinny & bedraggled. He hated the house and never wanted to stay indoors, so we built him a cat sanctuary in the woodshed complete with warming pad. When I took him to the vet's to have him checked out & neutered... seems he had already been uh, 'attended to'. Pumpkin hasn't been around for about 3 years now ... loved that cat.

I have had a blast with so many & gotta say feel pretty smug about being free of FB, Insta, Tiktok, and all the other socials out there. Really helps that I was born in the 1950s... no peer pressure here!

@lastrobot@writing.exchange One of my summer jobs was working at a tourist info stop on Hwy 17 at the Keewatin Bridge just a little west of Kenora, ON. Many many people traveling east from MB would state that they were headed to Toronto and expected to get there by the afteroon/evening... easily a 2-day drive from Kenora on a 2-lane 'highway'.
