So Elon Musk just let it out of the bag that there are people in the USA including him… which implies, a not-zero number of others in positions of influence… who believe Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Quebec should all separate from Canada. I mean… we’re beyond just one now… he’s essentially saying we should not exist as a country. If every second province “separates” then you quickly become unable to function as a contiguous nation. This is not sovereignty or individiualism. This is a foreign power trying to break its neighbour into swallowable pieces. This shit needs to stop. Oh… and aren’t any Canadians still on Twitter traitors at this point? Or are we still talking about “where the people are”. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/arts-and-life/life/sci-tech/2026/10/08/carney-says-canadas-future-up-to-canadians-after-musk-voices-support-for-separatism #Canada #Alberta #Quebec #Saskatchewan #CanPoli #CdnPoli #USA #TheAmericanFascist https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/arts-and-life/life/sci-tech/2026/10/08/carney-says-canadas-future-up-to-canadians-after-musk-voices-support-for-separatism

Avi Lewis comments on Carney's police goons arresting senior citizens who were protesting Carney's move away from responsible climate policy. He feels Carney should explain why he's focussing more on subsidizing big oil rather than on sensible climate change initiatives. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/Vqb0LU3OqBs #cdnpoli #canpoli #ClimateChange

This is what we get when we trade with the USA: Their worst, chemically loaded unhealthy shit. We should be investing in growing our own fruit in our own country. This is what you get when food safety laws aren’t strict enough and why increasing food safety and joining the EU would be the best thing Canada could ever do. #canpoli https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/whistleblower-allege-driscoll-s-berries-9.7359158

some pretty bleak numbers here: Canada's wealthiest demographic receives the largest proportion of government assistance.

"It’s not just that they typically have no dependents, live in paid-off homes and carry little debt, though all of that helps. Their well-being is also untethered from Canada’s anemic wage growth. People 55 and older make up less than one-third of the population but, as of 2023, they owned 49 per cent of the country’s real estate by value, 62 per cent of bank deposits, 72 per cent of mutual funds and other investments and 75 per cent of stocks. The value of all those assets has soared."

"Many do not feel rich. They consider themselves middle class, because they own the things middle-class Canadians once took for granted: a home, a car, perhaps a cottage or a boat. But those once-ordinary markers of stability are now available only to a privileged minority."

Here we go! BC Election on October 24! Eby is speaking on #TheAmericanFascist being the main reason. For stability, etc etc. #TradeWar But this is also a cynical and opportunistic power grab timed to take advantage of chaos in the BC Conservative and generally the centre-right and right-wing of BC politics. My main ask for the future government will be to stabilize our democracy with proportional representation. #BCPoli #CanPoli #CdnPoli #Democracy https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/livestory/british-columbia-snap-election-2026-ndp-leader-david-eby-9.7349059

If I take her at face value sure, yes, there are going to be people and are people who are angry that we are not developing every single drop of oil and gas possible. But that does not negate the fact, the physics, of the problem we are in. We must stop developing oil and gas energy. We must stop emitting CO2. We must end the use of fossil fuels. That means at the end of the day all Danielle Smith's tears accomplish, in both the short and long term, are tears for all the rest of us as our homes burn, our crops dry out, and our societies become unable to function. We must transition to clean energy immediately to avoid a disastrous future. Smith's tears, genuine or not, are not helping anyone. #CanPoli #CdnPoli #ABPoli

@chris@mstdn.chrisalemany.ca She's shedding tears for American investors who take 60% of oil profits out of Canada. The oil companies have reduced capital spending while asking for more government funding. They've laid off 50K workers since 2019. They have abandoned thousands of wells and the Feds gave Alberta $1B in 2020 to clean them up. And remediation of the oil sands will cost billions once the industry dies. The industry knows the boom is over but Smith can't admit that. #CanPoli https://youtu.be/N7XzEoddonU

@nev@flipping.rocks @TVOntario@flipboard.com I would also like to add, while most disabled people are not able to work, we are a walking economic stimulus package. Do you have any idea how many people I would employ if given enough resources to take care of myself? Pharmacists, food services, physical therapists, psychologists, home supports, transportation.... A high tide floats all boats. Support disabled people and lift the whole fekkin economy up too. #disabilityJustice #ONpoli #CDNpoli #CANpoli
