@grimalkina My heart goes out to everyone living under the oppression and corruption, the evil of this admin.

@woe2you @Quinn9282 @CppGuy @MarkHoltom Miele was, emphasis on past tense, truly excellent. Recent years they produce dysfunctional overpriced crap. It was one of the few brands I really admired up until that point. My first Meile lasted 15 years, until it got ran over by a car (long story). The replacement 8 years ago never worked despite taking it in for service help 3 times in the first year but didn't fix the problem, until 6 years later when I was ready to trash it and went to ace hardware in a final act of desperation, where they and showed the design flaw causing all the problems. So now I can use it, so long as I dismantle it and home fix it after every use, sometimes multiple times per use. It is their top of the line model. Corporate ignored every request and warranty plea, even though the problem is the same from the start and I had records showing it was a constant issue. They make junk now, save your $. My meile now has about 10 hours of use racked up for it's 8 year old life, and I've spent about 40-50 hours trying to get it to work.

@fraying It appears Masto does work for local posts, when you have gorgeous eggs especially. You're the top trending post less than two hours after posting. Congrats!

Been 30 years since the Fifth Element movie was made, with it's campy, comic book-ish sci fi fun. The opera scene and song still serves gave goosebumps though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7Dh5QoXv2c

@PDXyogini@toot.cat Such a content cat in a tent. Congratulations, you've achieved awesome owner status.

@handmade_ghost@sunny.garden I love the mating dance ending where they run across the water in sync and dive. Thank you for your post, it has some sweet nostalgia

@andrewbriscoe If you got a parking spot at Hug Point, on a weekend, when it's still spring break for some states, AND it's whale migration traffic too, that's a true, bonfide, genuine miracle. It's so pretty here at the coast, glad you paid a visit.

@killyourfm@layer8.space Is there a 'switching to Linux for idiots' edition? My belated took care of all these things and I'm utterly lost about tech in the most profound ways since he passed almost a year ago. Where does one start when one of their biggest skill blind spots needs an entire overhaul?

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social There were credible stories of people getting shocked from telegraph lines and such. Quick question, just in case - in today world, what would a Carrington level event do? What would people be well advised to do in such an event?

@mmiasma@mastodon.sdf.org Stepping Stone cafe nearby is something I think you'll really adore.

@markrsmith@smithtodon.org @vees@jawns.club Thank you for taking a principled stand against these changes.

@earthmothering9@aus.social Hugs to you dear. Grateful you had each other for 15 years, though that makes for such a huge loss too, all that time building love together. Hugs.

@jeneralist@med-mastodon.com Grateful to have been a tiny bit of comfort to you in this world. You've been a pillar of hope, humanity, and science here too. Especially exactly 1 yr ago when my partner was dying and the stress of the US admin change again was staggering.. you kindly nudged me through the bleakness. Thank you.

@SeanCasten@mastodon.social And those who want accountability, to protect our info from AI and breaches, and possible corruption?

@thomholwerda We've had 6 whales beach or die, one even swam upriver for awhile, here in the Pacific NW, Oregon and Washington coastin the past few weeks. Glad there are passionate people like her out there working to learn and help. Neat she followed her dreams, and is living her dream now.

@CharlieMcHenry@connectop.us S Oregon is sooo pretty around the cusp of spring, when the hills are still green and wildflowers are everywhere. Less ticks and mosquitos too, its the best time of year there hands down. Enjoy.

@JustFrank@mas.to For the 'take with food' ones, do you just layer Pez around them?

@brownsbay@pnw.zone That is the makings of a very good time.

@GPJohnston@mastodon.social @HumToTable@sfba.social Terrific news

RE: https://mastodon.social/@etnmarchand/116191627412075788 Memories of the Organ Grinder Pizzeria, that unique sounds and resonances that musician could make. Weird to think that enormous instrument will be dismantled and silent in a storage shed ahead.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@mem_somerville/116121588567159629 Audio up/on

@ncgleason@mastodon.social one more for your enjoyment and celebrating

@benjamincox@writing.exchange @fesshole@mastodon.social In the light of a confession meaning baring your heart unfiltered, that was fitting. Promoting an event where naked unvarnished truth prevails that isn't topic limited, just themed as confessions, all fits just fine. They've been funny, sad, gross, collectively covered so much ground... the confessions have variety that's for sure. I'd imagine the events gather people who want to hear others 'keep it real', and it can probably be quite a ride topic wise.

@strule@organica.social thanks, trying to learn and very easily confused in the initial stages. Your patience is appreciated

@CSchwartz@digitalcourage.social One of the downsides of living in a very small, tourist coastal town... little to no service options for many things. The senior center has some support services for things like printer jam help though.

@WideEyedCurious @ElleGray Our taste buds sure hope so right?

@markwyner@mas.to Good news! In Bonaire, there is a huge movement of coral nurseries. They're all over the place, some types that look like antlers, others that look like brain, and they pin them to big wire grids so they can grow and then plant them down when they're big enough. It's already making a difference there too. That and the lionfish hunters are helping nature get some strength back. Watched it for about 10 years and it makes a difference.

@jargoggles @BlakeHamiltonCA Social media seems to make things worse.

@markwyner@mas.to For the Mrs: https://www.edenbeach.com/facilities-services/coral-nursery/ https://gue.com/blog/restoring-reefs-in-bonaire/

@DenisCOVIDinfoguy@aus.social WOOO!!! We (humans) have a way to prevent long covid ahead now. This is such an important step, long awaited and much appreciated.

@zimfam Wonderful, thank you!

@JSteven@wandering.shop My kids used to love it there when it was an Izzy's. Is the pizza as good as it was?

RE: https://mastodon.murkworks.net/@moira/116316483847270213 #Oregon

@TracyTThomas@mastodon.beer Were you able to complete your travel, or was it cut short? Did you manage to avoid the first wave of covid among all that?

@Documentally @ianbetteridge Weird, I was just watching and % of liftoff is increasing and weather forecast is becoming more favorable. This was from the NASA page, where did you hear your info please?

@oregon@gluck.cc I was in the Yachats area from sunrise - noon and was wondering what all the hubbub was about. Hoped it was a rescue 'come and save the day' type, sorry to learn it was already too late.

@planet4589.bsky.social 38 years, ever wonder how many hours that account held? Congratulations on your successful career, and retirement.

Maybe you needed to hear this too. CW: Eulogy, history, current events, reminder of values. https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/march-6-2026

@JSteven@wandering.shop what restaurant?

@JSteven@wandering.shop That's wonderful, thank you. Will definitely check it out.

@spocko@mastodon.online Do you know how the backstage moment with Nichols happened? That would be a supremely cool casting perk, meeting my heroes and getting to be on the show that inspired so much... Jemison got to live 3 of my dreams and I salute her for it.

@tod@hci.social Proof positive some Canadian children are better informed about US politics than some voting age Americans. 😕

@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org And thank you, that's a help to have a reference point!

@strule@organica.social calamari, as in octopus arms? is it software?

@killyourfm@layer8.space Basking in birds, how adorable!
