Alex

It's raining here in Greeley, Colorado! They're calling it a severe thunderstorm. But sadly the expectation has reduced to 2mm instead of 7mm as forecasted earlier this morning. Similar situation tomorrow tomorrow. #Rain #Colorado

I know my city says the earthy/pond-like smell and taste of our water due to algae bloom recently is safe and aesthetic-only, but I hope they can fix it soon. My kitchen and bathroom smell like a swamp and the water taste is bad, even from my filtered refrigerator water. Makes me gag, if not worse, so I guess I'm sensitive to this. #Colorado #AlgaeBloom #CityWater

Argh. I made my ex-husband no-contact for months now and I'm days away from paying him the last of what I owe him from when we were together. There is absolutely no reason why he should contact me in any fashion. And yet he tried to call me last night! 😵‍💫 #Exes #NoContact

@Shelly@beige.party Thanks. And sorry you had that happen!

@bazkie@beige.party For real! One of the many reasons why I left him.

@senanthic@mstdn.ca Congratulations! Bravo on the diagnosis and referral.

@catsalad@infosec.exchange Also, I can see Kitty slowly walk towards a mike, tap on it, and then proceed just like this.

@steveriggins@mastodon.social Good for you! Hope the port happens soon. I wish I could end the relationship with the two businesses, but one is my insurance, and the other my property managers. These definitely have no indicators that they are AI.

@shaknais@mastodon.social Thanks for explaining these nuances for you.

@CatsWander@mastodon.social Wow, thanks for the incredible articulation on this! I appreciate the validation, and that's cool it might inspire you similarly.

@neatnik@social.lol Sounds like a pirate's treasure map clue. 😀

@stuart_j_whitmore@about-the-author.online That's very interesting that the issue is with the two major smartphone platforms. I hear you about the captive audience. Traditionally Apple has leaned into that, offering a lot to stay within the ecosystem.

@Serena@lgbtqia.space I brought this up yesterday to Alice and MCP. Alice reproduced it, but no word yet from MCP, who could actually fix this.

@carlprothman@hachyderm.io I always preferred moody days on the Washington State Ferries.

@mrundkvist@archaeo.social So sorry you are ill, but glad it happened after your epic hike. Do feel better soon, Martin.

@alice@lgbtqia.space @mcp@lgbtqia.space Our character count on lgbtqia.space just reverted from 10k to 500, in case you didn't know.

@SunnJax@tech.lgbt Do you ever grow sprouts as well, like alfalfa?

@spazahedron@indieweb.social Absolutely relatable! 15 years of mis-medication and misdiagnoses left impacts I'm still finding to this day.

I'm wondering how many people enjoy gamification in apps, and if there is any correlation with being ND (neurodivergent). #Gamification #ActuallyAutistics #ActuallyADHD #ActuallyAuDHD

@CatsWander@mastodon.social Right on and congrats!!!! Good for you. And, ick...having to choose your poison aka ad! Thanks and stay cool as well. 💨 We're at 39C/103F, a degree hotter than yesterday. The humidity was at 35% this morning but now is 17%. These don't sound bad, but they are high for our area.

@WestLawns@mastodon.social I live in an apartment now, so I don't have a choice. But heat pumps make a lot of sense!

@SunnJax@tech.lgbt This is incredible; thanks for sharing this deep dive into the offerings.

@Lucia@eldritch.cafe What did you use for dipping sauce?

@alexadeswift@lgbtqia.space Thanks for participating in the poll, Alexa! Sorry about that. I went back and forth if I should have "do" before the enjoy on the positive case. In the end, including it appealed to my sense of order. But not having it would have made it clearer which was the appropriate choice to make.

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt That's an amazing look for you! And love the confidence in your face and posture. ❣️

@lydialurch@mastodon.social Have you ever microwaved it to warm it up with a little vegan butter on it? So yum!

@mike@social.chinwag.org Some orchids do well indoors in a desk setting.

@lauren@mastodon.laurenweinstein.org Interesting! I noticed that with the Likes list, but thought it was just a display bug, and it was still storing everything I liked.

@the_etrain@beige.party The Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz, all grown up in the middle of summer.

@SunnJax@tech.lgbt Beautiful! The strawflowers (especially the white one with the orange ring) are particularly beautiful. Can't say I've ever seen them in person, sadly.

@stuart_j_whitmore@about-the-author.online Besides public libraries, I've heard Apple Books is a good platform, but hasn't received much love from Apple.

This was a rather interesting interview to read with an AI/data center sceptic with a lens of Apple's impact. https://www.macrumors.com/2026/07/27/ed-zitron-apple-watch-it-burn-ai-bubble-bursts/ #Apple #DataCenters #AI #Interview

@SecularJeffrey@ohai.social Drove my Vespa to the cistern but the cistern was dry

@steven@zeroes.ca For me, DBT was only mildly more helpful than CBT. But both were very wrong for my neurotype.

@heliomass@cosocial.ca I found if you move back and forth rapidly, you can often make out some details outside through this mesh.

@catsalad@infosec.exchange An honest-to-goodness soul scream! Bravo, Kitty! 😻

@steveriggins@mastodon.social I have two businesses that use an AI chatbot via email that are called common female names. I must admit I chatted as if talking to a human, and then was very embarrassed about it. The tell was that a response came back too soon. I thought they had to indicate it was an AI service?

@Tak I was using a body measurement app where you can specify when you want to do the measuring each week via a notification. But they will also hit you with an action notification any old day new weight data flows in. They were not granular enough with notifications. I brought this up to the devs, and they said it was by design. I turned off all of the app notifications and shortly after deleted the app, even with an unexpired subscription. They lost me as a user and revenue source.

Dang...just got a text from my apartment managers. We've been having our water that smells and tastes different for a few days now. Turns out there is an algae bloom that has impacted the water system for the entire city of Greeley, Colorado. And true to form, the city doesn't plan to discuss it for several days, but we're supposed to boil our drinking water for the time being. #Colorado #AlgaeBloom #Greeley #WaterSystem

I just a new step of self care. I've been subscribed to the digital version of my city's newspaper. This news site uses patterns of changing the articles many times a day. And if you don't see them then, you have no idea the article happened. As such, I have found myself on the site on the order of 20 times a day or more, just so I can stay informed. In addition, a lot of the articles they post are irrelevant to me or cause me distress. This is not healthy, so I cancelled the subscription. I'll just have to be aware of important local news in some other fashion. #SelfCare #Engagement #Newspaper

@foon@mastodon.social This sounds amazing!

@apzpins@some.apz.fi This was really cool to watch; thank you! And well done to you both on the maintenance day! ❣️

@jfmezei@cosocial.ca @heliomass@cosocial.ca I was on a different bus system recently, and they have the next stop display all the way at the front of the bus instead of brought closer to the seated area. If you were on the left side of the bus, you couldn't see the reader board. And the audible message was basically a mumble, so that didn't help. Your solution of using a map app sounds really neat.

@moelassus@mastodon.social 👀

@virgilpierce@nerdculture.de It was great to see the information show up on the banner of the City of Greeley's website today. My property thought it was going to be days to be published, so I'm glad they got incorrect information.

@tsyum@thepit.social Wow! A lot of LifeStance Health therapists, psychiatrists, and psychologists in my area do this word-spray as well. It's hard to know if they truly can help you if you need the specific keyword.

@Lorraine@beige.party Sounds like an amazing day! Congrats on being able to try the steroids for your legs, and that it is helping so much!

@MikeImBack@disabled.social This was rather heartbreaking that so monumental a structure that will enable so much is sullied by the USA political culture at present.

@Nerde@beige.party Maybe their minds will be regularly blown with the amazing things that science is. ❣️
