ICYMI "Örebropartiet" is the political party that #Mullvad co-founder Daniel Berntsson personally donated 5 million Swedish kronor to. That's over 500,000 US dollars and almost 450,000 Euro. The party is described as "to the right of the far right." #Politics #EuroPol #Sweden #Europe #Tech #VPN https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2026/09/24/in-sweden-the-rise-of-a-party-to-the-right-of-the-far-right-puts-local-democracy-in-orebro-under-pressure_6757880_4.html

#Canada just made it *easier* for some folks to become citizens. If you have a grandparent or parent who was born in Canada or a naturalized citizen of Canada you probably qualify. The application process is pretty simple and only costs $75. I've done it! #ElbowsUp 🇨🇦 👍 😁 https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/act-changes/rules-2025.html
#CurrentlyListening to really fascinating lecture from @pluralistic@mamot.fr: "A post-American, enshittification-resistant internet". From last year, but still plenty relevant. Walked in to Al Nalli Music on #MainStreet in #AnnArbor #Michigan circa early 1980s. The keyboard section was empty, just a bunch of cables and cords hanging off of keyboard racks. Me: "Did you get robbed or something?" Them: "Naw, #StevieWonder came in here and bought everything we had!" #HappyBirthday number 76 to a legend, a genius, and fellow tech nerd. 🎵 🎶 ⚡ 🎹 🎂 👍 😁 #Music #Motown #RhythmAndBlues Photo credit: Susan Wineberg, 1981.
I've watched more #Bollywood than most Western folk. Some were classics, some were stinkers, most were in-between. But even the worst movies had at least one banger of a track, and more often than not #AshaBhosle was singing lead. Her voice was bold and bright, it stood out in any mix of any genre. IMHO She's one of the finest vocalists of our time. May her memory be a blessing. 🎶 🙏 🕊️ #Music #Cinema #India #SouthAsia https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c6ppd0qdp1do

@staff@mastodon.social So I can request to have these feeds restored on my account? Is that correct? I enjoy the live feeds, I like to see what's going on out there, outside of my personal curated feed.

@wdlindsy@toad.social I've only had one post removed by mastodon.social, it was a sarcastic comment on a popular cyberscam and I'm guessing some bot thought I was promoting a real cyberscam. I appealed, but the appeal was rejected. Did the person reviewing the appeal also think I was a scammer? Who knows? I didn't get any feedback. Not a big deal, really, but I've been reluctant to post satire and sarcasm ever since!

@mastodonmigration@mastodon.online Of course I'd prefer a leftie like Bernie. But Prizker is from Illinois, at least he understands "rust belt" states -- which are also "swing states" -- like Michigan. From what I've seen so far, he may be our best hope for 2028.
Extremely disappointed to see this propaganda piece in the latest issue of #Buddhist monthly #LionsRoar. #Bhutan's persecution and ethnic cleansing of the #Lhotshampa is widely documented. Many refugees are settled here in #Michigan and cannot return home. Bhutan's so-called #GrossNationalHappiness is merely #BuddhaWash for the regime's genocidal nationalism. #Asia #Politics #Militarism #Genocide #Dhamma #Dharma #Religion #Spirituality

@bw@social.lol When a client asks me to build a website that they can maintain, I use basic HTML. IMHO It’s easier to teach them HTML than Wordpress or other CMSs. Years later their sites are still online, updated, and I haven’t heard any complaints. Your book is likely to make my job even easier! 💻️ 👍️ 😁

@Tutanota@mastodon.social Is there a way to turn off the spam filters on my account? Seems like the number of legit emails that aren't making it to my inbox is growing, even if the addies are labeled "Not spam" under "Spam rules". Turning off the filters might help me figure out what the problem is.
