So much of the edit was spent grappling with crappy footage and trying to decide whether I should reshoot everything or simply disappear into the woods never to be seen again, so it's gratifying to see youtube comments saying the perfect camera work proves it's all fake.

@cassey@ottawa.place this is how civilization ends, not with a bang, but with a prompt. what scares me most here is my flashbacks to when the NRC endorsed my bid to channel schoolboard efforts and funds into opensource tools, but the board preempted my submission by hiring a Microsoft partner to 'evaluate' the candidates. Guess who got the post. The dominant excuse is "to prepare students for the 'real world' work environment" although what they taught of M$ warez in 1996 no longer exist. Today, now, here in our nation's capital, the same excuse applied to fostering mass ignorance while root-toot-tooting the fascists surveillance devices because, well, that's the future we collectively hope for our kids, Amazon Prime for EVERYONE!

@dougmerritt@mathstodon.xyz @ancientjames@mastodon.social one reason I'm most proud of this LP proving difficult to get pressed is its raw blatent honesty. No overdubs, no punch-ins, no edits or gadget enhancements, it is what was captured by studio mics, as it happened, to be etched in a medium that could outlive us all (lost in a Misc Deletes section😅) Kepler noted how, in observing proportion, the ancients (and we today) sought Perfect Proportion as "closer to God" and then foisted that Immaculate Conception on the world. I, on the other hand, came to honour the "bringer of plurabilities, unhemmed as she is uneven" as the more holy 😊

another quirk upgrading #Jellyfin from 10.11.11 to 12.0, the random play buttons now only queue the first entry on the current page of files. In 10, it would step through random selections from the entire (filtered) library. Problem persists in 12.1

#monsterdon as a quasi-alert, I recently found a 1927 version of the German sci-fi monster/victim Alraune, which like Frankenstein, keeps getting remade with new twists on the monsterness of the monster. I'm told there's an earlier film, but I also wonder if there are any later than the 1952 'Unnatural'
