@disco3000@climatejustice.social @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Transportation is almost a third of the total energy consumption, and aviation is the larger part of it, if I'm reading the graphs right. Aviation so far is inseparable from fossil fuels. I wish it was texed properly and regulated, so domestic, inland flights were no longer viable.

RE: @dcoderlt@ohai.social

When you think about it, to a robot, there's no difference between an "oopsie" of miscounting r's in the word 'strawberry' and an "oopsie" of deleting your whole life's work.

If hardware becomes too expensive, we'll make and play simpler games, we'll optimize and simplify our software and modify our workflows. It's not the paint brush that does the painting.

One of the most cooked takes from Adam in a long time. It's the whole "work is your family" / "work is life" shit that has infested the US culture. Feels like the man hasn't seen how other cultures live their lives. I suppose when you work for 8 hours, do over-time, go to the gym and then commute for 2 more hours, that's the way your life goes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnHyKckbwIw

Why your boss loves work from home even more than you do.

New #Saulala Beta update!

- Added keyboard shortcuts for navigating 'screens'
- Added 'queue' support: opening multiple files will put them in a queue, allowing you to process them one-by-one without needing to browse for them.

#Saulala #photography #donationware

(Saulala is a web-app, made for developing camera-native (raw) files)

RE: @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu

It is infuriating and feels like a slap in the face, when one post claims that "Europe is aiming to become an AI continent" and a different post warns about the impending doom of collapsing climate.

Dumbass example: A "picture" of a glowing sphere against a dark background. A - "perfect" lens B - "imperfect" lens You'd probably agree that picture 'B' is a better depiction of a "light emitting sphere' Even though the centre of 'A' RGB values are higher.

Riffing on a post by Troy...

Weird how the brain clicks from "oh it's a fragment of a different picture" to "oh, it's actually a circular filter".

But the stimuli (the pixels in the picture) of the picture in the disc do not change.

Replying to

@sml@chaos.social I'll be honest, I wouldn't care that much if it wasn't affecting me directly. I watched the crypto / NFT nonsense from the sidelines laughing. But with this, it's different. I can really feel the quality of stuff drop around me, and we're wasting resources in exchange. People around me use "I had a discussion with AI", etc. I *cannot* escape this. Enshitiffication has escaped the tech world and is now affecting everything and everyone.

@liamcollod@mastodon.gamedev.place I've been meaning to try and describe my pictures, as one would have to describe them for an information plaque in a museum, but felt kind of pretentious. Maybe it's time to exercise the meatball and give it a go sometime.
