Excuse me but haven't we seen multiple lawyers professionally disciplined for relying on LLMs to prepare briefs and then submitting documents with misleading or nonexistent citations and other substantial errors in them?
So why in the seven hells is CanLII putting an "AI Summary" under each item in its search results?
One of my cognitive quirks is that I can expend my drive to complete a task by talking through what I will do. It's a matter of degree, and the more I talk something out the less likely I am to actually do it.
You might imagine how a daily mandatory brief, detailing my plans for the day and requiring me to answer in detail if someone wants to know more, might affect me.
I think the funniest thing about at least this iteration of Alienware's bitlocker setup is that any time it wants the recovery key, it's entirely valid to power the machine down and back up again, at which point the boot process will proceed normally instead.

I have since found confirmation that the 4GB blob Google helpfully shat into Chrome users' computers and the standards proposal linked below are two ends of the same project. Someone at Google is in a real hurry to turn their quarterly performance review into a durable internet standard.
Extremely pleased to see this kind of upwards consequence for being an asshole. This is the second such project I've seen this week; the other is for Firefox, to remove Moz Corp's AI and cross-promotion gunk.
I think I've finally hit on a big element of why Slack frustrates me so much as a workplace communication tool: the work of communication is transferred from the speaker to the audience by the structure of the tool, versus tools with more intentional communication styles (going back to email, but also including things like bug trackers) where the onus is on the author to structure what they have to say for legibility and to ensure that they reach the intended audiences.

Since it's nearly impossible to search for this without being inundated with DOM-level focus event information, is there a standard DOM event for when a browser window, hosting a page that is visible, loses or gains focus?
