Just finished these two little goofballs. They’ll be listed for sale tomorrow and then I’m off for a week of birthday staycation, during which I plan to stream pretty often.

@veronica@explains.social is the hero we need, not that we deserve. I'm so thankful she's out here doing this work. Please support her however you can. #rss #podcast https://makertube.net/w/d4VvgzW5m4jaGr9JFVBUCg
The "we're totally decentralized, bro!" social media platform #BlueSky is down at the moment. Which wouldn't happen if it was actually decentralized. So I'm posting about it on the #Fediverse
Love a fresh cup of hot irony in the morning.
What's the opposite of #AI slop? This. The. Animation. Frames. Are. EMBROIDERED. So refreshing to see people still valuing making real things by hand. Puppet builder approved.

If I have to live through nuclear war anxiety again like the fucking 80s, can I at least have my hair back?
Legally distinct celebrity… nephew. 🐸 #puppets #puppetbuilding #muppets
"If you don't use #AI you'll be left behind!"
If I see someone running towards an open sewer, I'm okay to not join them.
3 days start to finish & I wasn’t even rushing. Fastest live hands monster #puppet I’ve ever made. After 8 years I might actually have figured this stuff out.
Listing tomorrow on https://www.operationpuppet.com/
You think you’ve seen a pink monster but I’ll bet you’ve never seen a monster quite this pink. Live hands eyebrow mech #puppet coming tomorrow to the direct shop at https://www.operationpuppet.com/
I have no hesitation doing blatant advertising for my shop on corpo socials but do feel odd about doing it on the #Fediverse. And every time I mention that someone here is like “Give ‘er! Brother, get PAID!”
On behalf of struggling artists everywhere: thank you.
A little hashtag tells me it’s #portfolioday so no better time to point out if you’d like a hand made #puppet, this is an excellent time to get in touch! Links and stuff and junk at https://www.operationpuppet.com/
Another Legally Distinct Celebrity Amphibian has spawned! Going on the shop Monday but message me if you’d like it before that! #puppets #puppetbuilding #maker
I cannot over stress how exhausting it is to work in the creative arts in times like these. Malign forces are hellbent on devaluing human interaction so they can use us as addicted cattle to milk. Genuine human #art is more than a distraction, it’s a life raft.
The warmer weather is slowing creeping back. Two walks today. I need this. Walking outside is when I let the algorithm feed me new (to me) music.
It's #Canada day! Fuck nationalism, play video games and support indigenous people.
Yet more prep for #TennoCon. Just in case. I’ve never actually had my own business cards before.
(Forgive the crass commercialism, even #puppet builders gotta eat)
New Legally Distinct Celebrity Amphibian is now up on the direct shop at https://www.operationpuppet.com! #maker #smallbusiness
Why learning #history is important: there's a firm pattern that happens when wealth inequality gets extreme and ordinary people struggle to live while the wealthy few thrive. And it doesn't end well for the wealthy.
How else did these fuckers think it was gonna go? We'd just roll over and die? Those with nothing have nothing to lose.
Why is a Legally Distinct Celebrity Amphibian the most expensive thing I build?
2.5 hours of stitching. For one hand. #puppets #puppetbuilding #maker
Even if #AI did the miraculous stuff the rich techbros claim (it does not), if they don’t also support universal basic income, they don’t want to “liberate” humanity, they just want different smelling slavery.
LLMs can do some useful things. What is being sold is a scam.
Your occasional reminder that this chap is looking for part time work to supplement my home business that has been impacted by the economy. Experience in all #media production and front end webdev. Local to #Toronto, remote fine too. Landing site, please share: https://kevinblades.com #getfedihired
Lil preview of a new live hands monstor #puppet coming to the shop in a day or two.
A sudden (welcome) change in the weather has brought a sudden (unwelcome) yo-yo’ing air pressure so now my head feels like someone opened the airlock too soon.
This has been your Old Man Mentions The Weather Minute.
We couldn't miss this chance. #puppets #chatGPT #openAI #goblins https://puppet.zone/w/q9Q26mch6E8AcyTpdEvCz1
Not only do I plan to stream #warframe tomorrow morning, it shall be a #Fediverse exclusive stream. Shhh! Don’t tell the Normals.
Forgive the second bit of crass commercialism in one day but I’m still literally trying to raise money for rent. Having a sale on the direct shop. #puppets #maker #smallbusiness
I had to do one. 🐺 #Warframe #WaframeCaptura #VorunaPrime
Hopefully I won’t be able to complain about this much longer but LORD I am ready for the cold weather to end. I think I’ve gone a bit cabin fever, need to touch something that will eventually be grass.
Quite pleased I’m getting back into #streaming on the reg, both puppet building and gaming. Had so much fun streaming the Pax #Warframe dev stream watchalong last week I might just do that every dev stream.
#CoffeeThought: Imagine raising a generation of children who aren't legally allowed to use social media, so instead they resort to.... actually hanging out and doing real things in the real world while the adults become slop-fed addict mugwumps unable to look away from a screen.
New #podcast is up! We're back, rusty and have a loud cat! #gaming, #tech, #Microslop and as always, #puppets. Special shoutout to my peeps in #TheGamersTavern
In addition to *waves arms* I just spent two hours in the sodding dentist chair that I forgot I’d booked.
*Glassy stare into the middle distance with occasional twitching*
It’s been an exhausting week just trying to keep my head above water & I’m too drained to even enjoy gaming. Result: foul mood 😖
Hey kids, timing didn’t work out so no weekly #puppet build stream today. Should be an interesting one next week though. Spoilers: Legally Distinct Celebrity Amphibian… Nephew. 🐸
Part of the problem with trying to keep The Oracle somewhat timely with tech & gaming news is once I’ve written a script, 16 more things happen before I’ve had a chance to shoot it. Time to write another script.
Okay kids, time to get real, your friendly puppet builder is looking for supplemental income. Experience with #video & audio editing, #podcast and streaming production, copy writing, and front end web development. Local to Toronto, happy to work remote. Part time good. Landing page at https://kevinblades.com/ please share. #fedihire #getfedihired
Here we go kids, #podcast time! We touch (briefly) on the #Odyssey, #AssassinsCreed, #puppet builds and then the whole epic of Kevin's first #TennoCon, which was special. As the #Warframe community knows, we all lift.
Search Pixels and Puppets where you get your podcasts or at this direct link:

Timeline cleanse! #Puppets! Chill crafty hangoutage on the build #stream. #Owncast. #puppetbuilding
I have over 2k hours in #Warframe and have MR30 but I still have never done an endless mission type for longer than 20 mins. It kinda boggles my mind people stay in Arbitrations for like 3 hours. 👀

@jamie@gamerstavern.online Don't feel too bad, it's a whole format designed specifically to trigger addictive behavior in *anyone*. One of my control mechanisms to avoiding it is remember to just get *pissed* at them if I ever find myself falling into it.
They're *trying* to do this to me. Fuck that.

After an emotionally draining day, one of the oldest #Warframe creators goes and posts this. I swear this game has brought me to happy tears more often than anything else ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhoGYlud_E0
Note to self: un-tense your shoulders and relax your breathing.
Note to you too I imagine.
