The dutchies have a centralized identity that you are using to basically interact with everything government. That contains pensions and health related issues.
This is called DigID. It is run by a company called Solvinity an was was supposed to be taken over by a U.S. company called Kyndryl.
The dutch cabinet (= government) has now blocked this takeover.
I think the topic of souvernty is slowly landing in the right heads. I guess also ... thank you @bert_hubert@eupolicy.social and everyone else making noise there🙂

I have a new laptop and the first step was to put a really old vinyl sticker on it.
Thinks 15-20 years.
Now i have to deal with remains of glue on the sticker. Any idea how to best clean them up?

My Desktop-PC is not the newest, it is roughly 6 years old. Its based on an AMD Ryzen 7 3800 and i bought it somewhere in 2020. Somewhere early 2025 i have replaced the graphics card with a newer AMD RZ7800X one.
I had issues lately i have to say. It suddenly died and resetted and it got loud.
The reported CPU temperature was around 92-95C.
So i .... cleaned it.
As much as i try i have a hard time pushing CPU temperature now past 50C and the peak temperature i saw was 68C on one core.
Weird what cleaning your cooling systems in your computer can do right?

I am someone who likes to read terms & conditions and privacy policies and I would be like "hell nah".

Yes, this is "only" the identity provider.
But his is a big "only" because it - as you correctly said - means the whole health- and pension world will become harder to access if this identity does not work anymore.
Besides a lot of other stuff. Like paying taxes, a lot of the government services etc etc.
So if you can take down the identity provider you basically take down the services behind it.

The post on the right side is further back as its the side with the door, the post is halfing the length of the wall left over after the door so it makes sense.
the main question is - do i want the end of the boards to be square to the room or parallel to the beam and i guess i still have to make up my mind over this.

@the_wub@mastodon.social I don't want the data collecting, the always on, the constant monitoring so in case of an accidents the manufacturer can proof is not his fault.
I would prefer open source on the software but especially when it comes to stuff like engine management that's not very high on my list.
I like the accident detection and alarming but if buy that third party and just put that on the car.

The usage of the data contains a lot of sharing with others like involved train companies, governments, payment process... The list is long before it gets too the juicy parts like Data enrichment providers and marketing partners.
What precisely is shared with those ideas unclear.

BMW Germany was more useful but still no solution.
I'd love a new electric car but I don't want any of the existing ones for to the data collecting...
