Reminder: undisclosed slop machine usage, even in so-called "human in the loop" scenarios, is a form of reputation laundering.
That is, you are using your reputation as a human with expertise to provide cover for a technology which stands in direct opposition to human expertise.
If the excuse for not disclosing usage is "well people don't like it and will be mad at me," the appropriate question to resolve is why people don't like it, not why you unethically chose to hide it.
Seems ridiculous that I now have a dedicated ToDo list for

but such are the times we live in.

Democratized software development is being able to develop software using good, reliable tools for roughly $0.
As I have for a long, long time.
Meanwhile, devs are having to pay $$$, with costs now skyrocketing, to "build" software completely beholden to a handful of slop machines. Makes zero sense. (And no, "my employer pays for the tokens" is not an excuse!)
So Apple sux, I go over to using Linux.

@dan@m.danq.me I hardly use any mobile apps at all. In fact, the number of non-web apps I use on my phone in any given week I could probably count on one hand, two at the very most.
As far I'm concerned, “there's an app for that” is a dead end…at least on mobile. Still plenty of room for pro-quality native apps on tablets/laptops/desktops.

Hello fedi dev friends with resumes.
I'm trying to revamp my resume to get a lot more specific about the exact role I want (Senior Frontend Engineer). Seems silly to me, but since I got virtually nowhere in past efforts reaching anyone even for an initial interview, I'm thinking I was painting too broad a picture.
Anyone feel like sharing their resume with me that has been successful in the past? I just want some good inspiration and lord knows I'm not gonna ask a clanker for advice.

I'm almost at the point where I hate data centers more than I hate the actual technology itself.
Because as awful as the slop machines are for the damage to the digital environment, that's quickly becoming eclipsed by the damage to our actual environment—an absolutely inexcusable outcome in an era when we are dealing with the deadly effects of climate change. Like literally, right now, people are dying.

As for this particular thread, you started it by publicly pointing at Codeberg's vote on LLM policy and making it a sales pitch for your own service. If you're going to dish it out, you'd better take it.

Also it doesn't have to apply to *everything* you might do now or in the future, just that you can point to a tangible software project(s) being used "in production" which can be credibly claimed was hand-coded that you stand by.

Having a freemium/commercial service for such projects as an option is a valuable concept IMHO.
I'm just finding it quite bizarre for the commercial service to be criticizing the communial one. They serve different needs in my mind. "why not both?" meme, etc.
I need a gut check on the idea that NYC Mayor Mamdani has "doxxed" a whole bunch of rich people.
I'm trying to find out more about this idea but almost everything I'm finding in the search is garbage right-wing sources. And buried in one of the articles was the acknowledgment that it's a matter of NY state law of publish property records that would be affected by new taxes.
So what is it? Doxxing? Or state law? I'm very confused. 🤔

My take on Taylor Lorenz is she so desperately wants to be seen as a good person fighting for the little people, yet she keeps making decisions which reveal that she's just extremely good at promoting the personal brand called Taylor Lorenz.

Instead, I find it very difficult to find any merits whatsoever to your antagonizing attitude towards Codeberg. Many people who might be attracted to putting *some* projects on CodeFloe are very likely using Codeberg as well. (Like me!)
This is bad form.
