I keep seeing anti-vaxxers, freebirth advocates, etc., be like, “Well, what did babies do before modern medicine, then?!”
This. They did a lot of this.

How do I bribe the brain gremlins to write when they don’t really want to? Well...
My Gen Z niece has an aptitude for technology and grew up around a techie Gen X dad and a techie millennial aunt (me). As a result, she is carrying on the millennial torch of having to help people older AND younger than you figure out computers. As soon as she’s done with college, she wants me to help her install #Linux on her laptop.

This book is SO GOOD and everyone should read it. #Books #FantasyBooks
In looking for books with keys on the cover, per my book cover reading challenge, I finally came across this. It’s as harrowing and heartbreaking as you’d expect, but I haven’t been able to put it down. #Books #Nonfiction
I recently attended a pinning ceremony in southwest Texas, near the Mexican border, and one of the graduating nurses had his husband as his pinner. They got a big round of applause from the audience, at least as loud as all the others. That was a really lovely sort of #HopeFuel moment for me.
I have ✨ writing news! ✨ Thrilled to announce that my story “Clowder” will appear in an upcoming issue of Small Wonders Magazine. I admire @SmallWondersSFF@wandering.shop so much, and it’s an honor to be published by them! #WritingCommunity
In case anyone was still wondering whether Amazon disabling older Kindles was really about DRM: They’re discontinuing Kindle for PC now too. (It was the last remaining way to back up a Kindle library.)
If you see me installing Windows 7 in VirtualBox because I’m so sick of Microsoft’s BS, no you didn’t.
It’s thundering and I don’t want to have to get up to shut down and unplug my laptop. We weren’t supposed to have storms tonight. 😕
Hey y’all, I have a pretty urgent mutual aid request. This is an IRL friend of someone I have known for over a decade; he is legit. He lost everything in the Eaton Fire and now faces disability in the aftermath of his life burning down. He currently needs $250 for meds, and he also has a GFM for replacing the tools he once used to make a living. Please boost, and help if you can!

I’m confused as to how The Weather Channel shows this, but the National Weather Service doesn’t even have us under a severe thunderstorm watch.
Is there a support group for people who 1) are at high risk of breast cancer and 2) experience dysphoria around having boobs? It is miserable knowing these things will probably kill me and I don’t even want them. And I have to do regular self exams even though they make me more miserable. And I’ll need to start mammograms in less than a year and that makes me want to crawl in a hole and pull it in after me. God I wish I had top surgery money.
Why do yellow-breasted chats have to be SO LOUD? They keep waking me up at ass o’clock in the morning.
Moving my Bluesky account to Blacksky was definitely the right call. Blacksky is still up.
The Kobo app has stopped working on my iPad, so I decided to look on eBay to see if someone might be selling an old Kobo ereader for cheap (I’ve seen working early model Kindles sold for less than $30). I could buy a brand-new Kobo for what these folks are asking for the old ones!
Hi baby! I missed you!
