- Use references manager like Zotero
- Never use RTF
If you put your name on something in #science field it means you are ready to take consequences for your actions. Hallucinating reference should result in a ban.

If someone would write this 2 years ago I would say they are delusional but today its just reality.
I hope soon we get open models with such capabilities as for now only the gatekeeped models from big tech are capable of doing such good work.

"What you didn't know is that someone else on this paper at the last minute made some edits to the grammar of the paper using an LLM" - but you use LaTeX for your paper and store in git right? If now how do you make sure your coleagues don't write trash? You review whole paper every day?
I read your arguments and I think example you given is some edge case which probably will never happen.

I have to use Claude at work and it really boosts productivity. It wont code whole project for you but if you know what you are doing these tools really speed up the work.

If you don't play games, make water simulations, run own server or learn how to alocate big chunks memory in C, 16 gigs seems to be a fair amount.
If you scroll Instagram or TikTok having 32G of ram seems to be waste of memory XD
Idk man. It's sad that something which used to cost penies now fucks up my finances only because big tech wants to get rid of personal computers in the first place.
