@jonny Sigh. They quote Mickens as from a totally serious, authoritative source, when what he writes is (delightful) satire. They use "hallucinations" as if talking of a completely genuine, inevitable quirk of their system, preventable by the use of an actually deterministic, focused tool like memory sanitizers. They repurpose "Given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow" (an already-disproven quip) to equating their tool to intentional eyeballs.

@gemelen@mammut.moe @mhoye@cosocial.ca I should really research this myself, but one thing I didn't catch is whether they use /usr/bin/su because it already has a setuid bit, and they just overwrite its pages with basically something that execs a shell - or if the new binary actually has an exploit inside that gives it root.

Does flatpak have machinery to limit the amount of memory an app can request?
(Ill-formed question, I know, but I just had to kill a runaway Firefox flatpak and it would be nice to limit it to, say, N GB of RSS or something.)
