Catnip for those who enjoy #DarkAcademia, #CampusMystery, and #DetectiveFiction #novels, especially the delicious vintage stories: Academe in Mystery and Detective Fiction: An Annotated Bibliography by John E. Kramer (2000) and College Mystery Novels: An Annotated Bibliography, Including a Guide to Professorial Series-Character Sleuths by John E. Kramer, Jr. and John E. Kramer, III (1983). #Mystery #Bookstodon
Hi, everyone! I wanted to say thank you for all of the helpful comments and suggestions for my friend's daughter and her research. You were brilliant! I am most grateful.
FYI, I also recalled that the scholarly journal #Mythlore is now open source and fully searchable, and it is a gold mine! I am sharing the link here in case it is useful to anyone else:

Replying to
@Virginicus @mpe Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas really struck that chord for me, especially with its Gothic sense of claustrophobia and science gone off the rails without accountability.
Replying to
@colorblindcowboy Oh goodness, I just read that one for the first time not too long ago, and what a trip! You're making me want to reread it now. I totally can see the real-life angle there.
Replying to
@bryanalexandee We’ve had an amazing two months talking about this series, and I love how it flows (in terms of themes as well as plot) into Rogue One.
Replying to
@petes_bread_eqn_xls 😆 I think you're right!

@RunalongWomble@mastodon.social Good morning, Womble! I hope you’re well. I’m currently reading the final book in the Liebermann Papers series of historical mysteries set in Vienna at the time of Freud (who is a mentor of the protagonist), Mephisto Waltz by Frank Tallis.

@7sven@mastodon.social Oh, I agree 100%! “It was human” is such a great point — the openness, curiosity, and excitement about ideas was remarkable. And inspiring.
