A pile of #TheLaundry #ttrpg arrived today so I can continue to explore @cstross@wandering.shop ‘s #thelaundryfiles despite the series finishing with the latest book.

Kind of hoping that they don’t mess this up, but not really sure if I’ll watch it on Prime.
Great to see #TravConUK being announced early.

@SJohnRoss@dice.camp it feels like that, but from the Discord discussions I think some of it is a conscious choice.
Blog - First Impressions - Gallows Corner - A Peasants' Revolt RPG
TL;DR: I picked this up because I liked the theme (England in the late 1300s and the uprising of the peasantry). This is a campaign focused game where you try to wrest control from the ruling classes across the Hundreds and Counties of England. It's beautifully produced, but ultimately some of the system design choices mean that it's not a keeper for me, but it may work for you.

Blog - #FlowersofAlgorab - Episode 14 - Heart of Glass
TL;DR: The New Seekers engage with the rival scientific communities on the Library Station to understand the nature of the threat from the dimensional fracture and whether they can prevent it causing a catastrophe. Armed with a better understanding and accompanied by a young algebraist with the mathematics needed to shut down the experiment, they enter the dimensional fracture.

Blog - #FlowersofAlgorab - Episode 13 - Battle for the Kumaranti
TL;DR: Our heroes defend the Slipstream Cruiser Kumaranti from Wreckers, and then stumble into an academic dispute, manifested as a dimensional fracture, at the Library Station at the edges of the Jumuah system.

Blog - Delta 3 is very definitely Down again!
TL;DR: Another one of my #Traveller #ttrpg scenarios has been re-released. Delta 3 is Down is set in the Spinward Marches just before the Fifth Frontier War. You play a Zhodani Admiral and her retinue who have crash-landed on an Imperial Frontier world. The scenario has been updated to the current edition (but retains #GURPS Traveller details) and is released under TAS.

Still musing whether it's worth upgrading from macOS Sequia to Tahoe.
The only compelling reason I can see at the moment is being able to use @hexaedre@dice.camp's excellent star mapping tool for Traveller and more.
But the look of the UI still puts me off.

Blog - #Books in February 2026
TL:DR; 7 books, 2,155 pages. 3 novels, 2 non-fiction, 2 roleplaying.
Highlight of the month was @cstross@wandering.shop’s “The Regicide Report”, which brought the Laundry Series to an end.
Antti Tuomainen’s “The Winter Job” was fun with a wry humour.
Underwhelmed by “Project Hail Mary” (Andy Weir), which felt too much like “The Martian” for me.

One for UK #ttrpg players...
Longcon 2026 will be held at the Garrison Hotel in Sheffield the weekend of 27/28 June.
#Longcon offers a unique experience compared to other conventions in that you can play a single mini-campaign over the weekend. We've 8 fantastic games offered and you can find out more at the link below.
It's a relaxed, friendly style of play (no 3 hour slots) & I've played 2 of my best campaigns there! @eladrin@dice.camp & I are hoping to see some of you there!

@mrundkvist I think they’re killing the old ones as there’s routes to break the DRM using them.
Blog - Games to March 2026
TL;DR: 15 #ttrpg sessions, 13x GMed, 8 online using a combination of #Role and #OwlBearRodeo. 2 conventions. Most played game is #coriolisthegreatdark.

Blog - #FlowersofAlgorab Episode 5 - Trouble in the Stacks
Latest write up from my #coriolisthegreatdark #ttrpg campaign, when the players continue pulling threads across Ship City, trying to find out why a Guild colleague may have been murdered.
Hat tip to @TheTweedmeister@dice.camp and @eladrin@dice.camp who're on Mastodon for a fun game,

@kyonshi The 5e Curse of Strahd campaign is wonderful, but when I ran it I ended up blending in the MandyMod and Dragnacarta remixes, and alternative entry that was much more folk tale horror. Plus the Stygian Library and The Carnival from AD&D 2e…
It was 68 sessions of fun. They only visited the castle once and needed up running away.

#NorthStarCon is now open for registration.
It's a science-fiction focused #ttrpg convention which will be held in Sheffield 10/11 May 2025. This is the eighth run of the convention and the sixth physical (it spent two years in a virtuality during the pandemic). We welcome all types of SF RPGS.

@c_merriweather@social.linux.pizza @deinol@dice.camp Curious in what way you find the text difficult to read? The 2e 2017/2022 editions layout is very clean (albeit on glossy paper)?
The black on grey in the first edition of Mongoose Traveller was awful though.
Blog - #FlowersofAlgorab - Episode 7 - Revelations of the Ramda Obelisk
TL;DR: Latest session report of our #coriolisthegreatdark #ttrpg campaign. The crew visit an ancient dig site on the surface of Ship City's Asteroid, and discover the location of a hidden vault. One of the crew has an extended spotlight, scoping out a sensitive site to plan how to access the vault.

Blog - #Books in July 2026
In July I read 10 books (2,637 pages) which takes me to 59 for the year so far (14,965 pages). I read 3 roleplaying books, 2 graphic novels & 5 novels. No non-fiction this month, which was a surprise, but I'm quite close to finishing one which will appear in August's update.
A mixture of spy fiction (Charles Cumming), mysteries (Simone St. James & Christopher Fowler) & SF (M. John Harrison); all enjoyable. Summaries in the blog.

Julian Simpson has announced plans to create and release more episodes in the Lovecraft Investigations via crowdfunding.
The original seasons were fantastic so I hope this happens. I hope they do the Pleasant Green #ttrpg supplement soon!

Yes, I ate it.
