#GoodMorning, good #tzag, and #TGIF. ​ After a rough and busy week, today is our Opening of Schools Tech Meeting, where we will hear about what's in store for the 2026-2027 school year regarding technology and education, and how we will be providing support to that. After that and lunch, it's either back to my school site or just head straight home depending on how long the meeting and lunch runs. For now, though, I'll be focusing on my morning #coffee before heading off to the meeting. ​

I am considering replacing the screen on this HP Stream 14 running Fedora. Can't stand glossy screens. A nice matte screen would do nicely. ​

Currently working on my Fedora laptop since the OpenBSD one isn't working anymore. Really wish that Ironwail and Quakespasm were available in the Fedora repositories, or even in the RPM Fusion ones. I don't want to install it as a flatpak. ​

Device is nearly done with the upgrade. It's actually going by faster than I had expected on this thing. :flan_awe:​

Looking a lot better now. Finished cleaning the keys from the main keyboard and the number pad, as well as the inside part underneath, and put them all back in place. All that's left is to put back the top row of keys now that the inside part is clean. All that's left are the arrow keys and the 6 keys above it. As you can see in the second pic, it was a lot of yuck from who knows how long in there. ⌨️🧼🧽🫧 #MARCHintosh

@gemlog@friendface.kalum.ca That was around the early to mid 2000s, but shouldn't have been an issue for a laptop manufactured in 2020. Still, as I mentioned, it might have been my fault, but it could also be the quality of the design coming from Taiwan. I may be recording an update to this since my son's grandfather managed to find the problem (shorted out MOSFET caused by the cap blowout). I already bought a proper charger for it in preparation to get it back (hopefully before Father's Day ​).

All clean and reassembled and ready to go home. #MARCHintosh
