@mullvadnet@mastodon.online it's not cryptographically possible to have such a system anyway. You can always just check against each person's certificate or similar to deanonymize them

@millihertz literally all Rust does is prevent memory leaks and buffer overflows as long as the programmer doesn't type the unsafe keyword or use anything that has that keyword. There's lots of other language features too but fundamentally that's it.

@fasterthanlime@hachyderm.io @argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org the problem with this is that it would have to trigger with latin letters due to the font things (𝙰, etc.) This would have the banner be there nearly every time. I assume GitHub made this as a response to specific attack vectors against English lettering. There's also zero width/invisibles which isn't in that list.

@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org @fasterthanlime@hachyderm.io it's a billion times easier to just whitelist a set of characters than to go through the however many hundred thousand Unicode codepoints individually.

I really wish BASH would let you cat file.txt | operation > file.txt. But it wouldn't work well for really large files with the way UNIX pipes are supposed to work

@agx I wonder, is there a mode for the keyboard to only show the top bar? Would be useful on devices with a mech keyboard.
I have never, under ANY circumstances, wanted a chat platform to send me an email that I have an unread message.

It still surprises me how buggy Windows is, given that its the most popular desktop OS there is.

@Gargron@mastodon.social the App Store fee would only be justified if there was an ability to opt out, which there isn’t.
