There's a new V17 release of Eloquence for NVDA 64-bit available with improved 44.1 kHZ upsampling. It removes more hissing.

Courtesy of @leonardder@mastodon.social NVDA is becoming capable of Converting ui.browseableMessage to wx.html2.WebView, like JAWS. That would also be a boon to many add-ons, mine included.

Bookworm, the Python ebook reader, finally gets a long overdue update. V2026.1 of Bookworm is here with lots of bug fixes:

Eloquence 64-bit for NVDA, version 17.2, is now available. This release removes additional artifacts by applying a notch filter around the 9 kHz region. These artifacts were quite subtle and not always noticeable, but they could still be heard upon careful listening.
The update also slightly boosts the mid frequencies, making them more prominent.

Update: the latest Eloquence 64-bit V16.1 preview release for NVDA now offers a slider for 44 kHZ. It can further modify the treble for those who want to fine-tune the upsampling. The default value is 50.

I've been silent lately because of the things happening around. So as casual as it may sound, I'm getting ready for the second round of the U.S. vs Iran war.
The upcoming V2026.06 release of Eloquence/ IBMTTS Community Dictionaries will, for the first time, provide German fixes by a native speaker, as well as hundreds of new US English entries. But they have been optimized for Eloquence not IBMTTS. IBMTTS has issues detecting some of the German corrections. If you update dictionaries inside the Eloquence 64-bit add-on, you can get them now.

@TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space @Aryan@dragonscave.space More recent Paperback dev releases apparently support Android, and that's a good thing! However, a few people have asked me how they can be installed on Android phones at this moment. It seems that new dev builds don't offer APK installers. Any thoughts?
I've made updates to my NVDA add-ons - Links Management in particular. But I can't post them because of ongoing internet issues.
Just finished trying QuickMail, but removed it after a few minutes. It persistently fails to display messages in some, but not all, of my Gmail subfolders. More importantly, unlike Thunderbird, it doesn't fetch my messages automatically. There are 1, 2, and 5 minute options, as well as an "Off" and "let server fetch" option, but none of them makes it feel as instantaneous as Thunderbird. Also, when a folder has focus, tabbing through the folders doesn't automatically display its messages unless I've pressed Enter on that folder first. I wanted to ditch Thunderbird, but I guess it's staying, at least for now.
