@mherbert @futzle @fullofmang ah see i think it peaked in season 4/5 - the balance of chaos vs humour was about right. (Mr Flibble's not very happy, etc). s6 was ok... but i htink that was the start of reusing jokes in episodes? And I stopped watching.

@coolandnormal its hard coded in my brain, anyone says 'fish', and 'trout a la creme' pops in there. I tried to watch Death in Paradise early on and every time Danny John-Jules is on screen a little piece of subconscious pops up a notification that says "FISH!"

@perkinsy @LifeTimeCooking @weezmgk I cannot recall if that particular plant survived after that. This year's batch have also got riper much quicker - i guess it was just a terrible spot for it, but not _too_ terrible? They were capsicums seeded from one bought from a shop, I just had a bunch of seeds and some spare gardenbed and threw them in. They grew as you'd expect - all tangled together and weird, and then I had to remove the bed, so they had to survive through that. Somehow now in pots (about 75% survived) they are fruiting and seemingly happy.

@trib @satsuma same same. Its not as good as playing in person, but its better than not getting to play at all. (online chat makes it hard to do conversation, that's the main drawback. )

@Tubemeister @Gargron Asterisk provides an alternative where you replace it with another pun, but that's beyond translation :) I don't have a reference, but I remember reading that later translations to dutch specifically were much better - it wasn't a quick and dirty word for word, someone was employed to put some real work into trying to keep the sense of the joke there.

@satsuma @trib Its just the audio really - having to wait for someone else to finish talking (or everyone hears gibberish) stops the quick back and forth. But yeah, same situation here - we're busy, tired, and one player is 200kms away, so its better than nothing :)

@pandora_parrot@beach.city @pseudonym@mastodon.online Inconsistency is a big issue - where will it randomly throw some noise this time? Its an exciting game. But even consistency can be bad - with a junior, you can review code and say "hey, don't do X, it is bad for Y and Z" and they have the capacity to internalise that, especially for localised reasons. Theoretically the junior will learn over time, and do this less. The LLM output does not without being explicitly told ever time - it will keep making the same output because that's how its usually done. And even when explicitly instructed, sometimes you get "Oh I'm sorry I didn't follow that instruction, I'll go back and fix that". If you had to keep instructing a person like that, you'd be praying for them to quit.

@ausfestivus@aus.social same. Have prewarned other householders to watch anything outstanding in the next month. $20 was my limit and i was faffing about cancelling it, but then to crank it again by 20% in less than a year? yeah nah.

@perkinsy we left one on the bush for 8 months as it slowly slowly ripened and it was not woody or anything at the end of it, so i'd advise patience? :) (most of mine get bugs boring into them, annoyingly, which is a danger if you leave it)
