@vga256@mastodon.tomodori.net I never played the DOS version, but my middle school computer lab had the Windows 95 version on every PC, so after finishing my work in 10 minutes I played it obsessively for the remainder of class 5x a week. I grew up with consoles, TIM was the first time I ever "got" computer games. One of the greats

@aetataureate I read The Martian back when it first came out and couldn't figure out what all the buzz was about. It's a story about a guy with no flaws effortlessly overcoming all of his challenges and learning nothing. It was so clearly a self-insert competence fantasy, I was shocked anyone saw anything deeper. Disappointed but not surprised to learn PHM is more of the same
