Hi,
I have A LOT of moving experience.
1) You're in the pre-move jitters stage. I call this feeling bungee jumping with your life. It feels scary but won't be so bad once the move is over.
2) The first year is the hardest. You don't know anyone, and getting setup is expensive. Don't judge whether you've made a good decision until one year later. Live tight while getting situated.
3) Downsize. Give those things you love away to family and friends. Have a yard sale.

I was excited about Proton. Then I watched this 'non-profit' start acquiring companies to build an ecosystem. And I'm done putting all my eggs in the single basket of one ecosystem.
This answer is yes, and this corporate technobabble is yet another sign that they want to become Google-like rather than serve as some indie alternative.
I still have an account, but I don't use it. I'm 100% over Proton as an entity I can trust.

I vote where there are only a few Dems running for local office.
In 2024, I saw a campaign sign outside the polls for a Republican who went independent because he opposes He Who Shall Not Be Named.
I go inside. Naturally, it's just this candidate and a GOP candidate.
So my vote goes to the independent, who then wins.
This taught me a lesson: Those straight ticket choices are there to disenfranchise independents.
