We don't have an *energy crisis*. We have had the technology and skills to create enough sustainable energy for our needs for YEARS, if governments only let us develop them.

What we have is a *greed crisis* where the oil and gas lobby is determined to squeeze every dirty litre of profit out of their assets while the world burns.

This is only happening because governments, like the Liberal government here in Canada, enable them.

I'm sure lots will jump aboard.😞 This is what the Chair of our Centre for Peace stated in response: "The DIS is a plan to intentionally, transparently profit from a war economy. He wants to build a war economy in Canada and he needs companies like Palantir to do that. He lacks the imagination or intellectual breadth to envision a sustainable, wealthy, healthy nation that can draw on the ingenuity and skill of Canadians and instead is turning to the stale war mongering playbook of the US to build our economy. Carney is more of the same old Colonial mindset.

I am so confused. Who is Carney afraid of? Why do we need this military build up?

It clearly not to prevent aggression from the US or protect " sovereignty" since he is to continuing to buy and sell weapons and mitary equipment with the US and US companies. He is even considering participation in the Golden Dome missile defence system proposed by the US.

What is really going on here? #Canada

This is it! The judicial review starts this Tuesday in #RosslandBC on whether the proposed #RecordRidge mine needs an environmental assessment.

This is a precedent setting case. We must hold the line when corporations try to avoid accountability, and we must make sure government knows citizens are watching how well they protect communities and ecosystems from the impacts of mining.

@ChrisIstace oh boy reality check🤣 i will prepare for everything, and i camp in a van which has huge advantages on the coast. ukky and tofino were fog free and lovely after the first day of rain last year- this is first week of August Wick Beach. We camped a Surf Junction, it was great!

Well the union meeting did not go so well. More voices in favour or undecided than I would have hoped. I'm glad I recruited a colleague in advance, I had one ally.😔 Our Union Secretary asked me for links to share and we may have a motion to vote with advance notice at a later date so that the whole membership can be notified ahead. I am angry as I feel this "consultation" was deliberately done when classes are over for the summer, I know many students would protest loudly if they knew.
