I can't stop laughing at the word 'simply' in this book blurb.
Decades later this aesthetic persists in children's play kitchens, even as real kitchen design has moved on through several revolutions.
Off to the optician later. That'll be the eighth time I've left the house in 2026.
Used to have ridiculously good eyesight but I've now got to the point of having to hold my phone at arm's length to read anything... Shall I go for half-moon reading glasses or the full Edna Everage?

In further evidence of how unreliable my memory has become: this morning I remembered I copy-edited one of Mackenzie Crook's children's books in 2013 (The Lost Journals of Benjamin Tooth, which also features small magical creatures). Looking back through files I find a lot of emails from him - a lovely chap to correspond with and unsurprisingly funny. So strange how things just get wiped.

Do I know anyone on here who has experience of being the appointee for a family member's PIP (or DWP interactions in general)? I have a question about admin/record-keeping and would really appreciate a bit of advice from someone who's done it. No personal or sensitive info required! All the online advice is vague or sloppy and my fogged brain can't sort through it.

It would be amazing if she could help bring pressure on the Cochrane Library to remove its seriously flawed 2019 review of exercise for ME/CFS, which is leading some unwitting clinicians to advise LC patients to over-exert, causing serious harm.

1) Stick to planting things with woody stems that slugs aren't keen to eat - roses, lavender, rosemary, philadelphus, hebe, peonies...

@cabel@social.panic.com When the UK Legoland theme park was being built in the 90s, they put mini construction workers made of Lego around the site, with different Lego tools and machines and so on. I was doing deliveries to the site for a few months so I could see them move around the different builds as it all progressed. Just a lovely sense of fun.
