Jodrell Bank's soon to be decommissioned (i really hope not) telescope, should be used to RF illuminate any space reflective satellites, ideally at their uplink frequencies.
I'm sure the FCC have no jurisdiction over this use, so it must be ok.

Ill apologise now, if JLCPCB has "suddenly" run out of some of their range of SMD mosfets.
I have no idea how this happened ;)

Kicad can too, but it does require the arranging of 143 transistors.

Sad to have to leave #emfcamp slightly early.
But, what an event... way too much to put in a post.
Thanks to all of the organisers, speakers, workshoppers, installationers, network, power, toilet/shower and nullmakers? for putting on another superb event.
And thanks to all the people who came to @ExtKits@mstdn.social at the #nightmarke and workshop.
Hopefully see you again in 20 to 25 months :)

If i sit in a pub, and randomly scream at the top of my voice, I get thrown out.
But if i support sports ball, its totally accepted.
I'm being singled out here.

And congratulations to an insolvency practice that has just sent me the most pishing like email I’ve ever had from a real company.
Please provide:
List of all user accounts - usernames and passwords
Administrator login credentials for laptops & desktops.
Website username and passwords.
to be sent back by email in WORD
to someone I've never dealt with.
Even if I had access all of the above. Hell NO!

@davep@infosec.exchange @dtl@8bitorbust.info @a2es@mstdn.social Hi-gain and narrow beam are exactly the same (Physics) so the focus of either should be exactly the same (beam angle) for a particular gain. I was talking about making one. The engineering at 5Ghz is really tight for high gain designs, but with a dish, you only have to worry about focal point, which is a point at source and tune for maximum smoke kind of solution. (especially if you use the sun to find your focal point)

A bit of a clean and the meter works, 7.4mA for full scale. It does explain the low resistance. You forget how insensitive early meters were. I also suspect the magnets in the movement might not be what they once were.

At least the meter looks untampered with, although not working and a dubiously low resistance.

I've worked out the Voltage scales.
Off
0-600v x4
0-300v x2
0-150v direct
0-15v /10
and 0-150mV for the Mili-volt connection.
They should just be a matter of getting the right resistor values, and rewiring.
Current is a guess, but I'll go for 0-1.5A without shunt. As this will be a useful range, no other reason.
This could change, IF I get more information on the set.

@davep@infosec.exchange @dtl@8bitorbust.info @a2es@mstdn.social Yes, yes it is, the gain will be less by (waves hands) "an amount" for the lower frequency, but I'd expect 30-40db maybe.
If I could remember my college education better I'm sure I could calculate it.
This is the problem with not doing any college this century.

@davep@infosec.exchange @dtl@8bitorbust.info @a2es@mstdn.social 400Mhz is probably at the low end of its working range so may spread a little. I'm sure somewhere there is a gain figure for the dish (probably for higher frequencies) DTL is probably more of an expert here than me.

A rough plan for replacing the Innards of the meter.
Suggestions on appropriate (for its age) resistor types welcome.
As is any reference to this meters existence.
I know the company, I know it's not a transistor tester (I suspect valve era) , but the internet comes up blank.
