Looks like Microsoft is building a data centre in the #Leeds area, at Skelton Grange. There's a campaign group against it: https://noleedsdatacentre.wordpress.com/ Their site has some recommended actions & petitions and links to their Insta/YT accounts.

It is sayed by the great prophetess Mother Shipton that man shall yet fashon a macheine by which he may cast broadly his vexations thru the knowne lands, that the mindes of his kin and others may help his problemes be resolved. Yet if the mesage returned bear the avatar of a pale man, the answere within shale be cursed; and yet if the mesage bear the avatar of a beaste, the answere within shal be blessd.

If you want your blog post to read like the transcript of an American podcast, try using AI to write it.

@LitteRatty I think the stability thing is probably right. The stream is at the bottom not that - it might just be so it's easier to reach in to fish out detritus and/or fill up a watering can for the top of the plot.

@Broadfork I think the wind thing is probably right. The stream is at the bottom so not a gravity thing - it might just be so it's easier to reach in to fish out detritus and/or fill up a watering can for the top of the plot.

As people have pointed out, it's probably buried for stability in wind. I think being cut in half is probably to make it easier to pull out detritus and/or use it to fill a watering can for the top of the plot.

@alexwild@mastodon.online my old workplace ran a now defunct Drupal7-based website-as-a-service thing for exactly this kind of biology/taxonomy site, it's fun to know static html has outlived that hot mess

@rikviergever@mastodon.social @murena@mastodon.social @e_mydata@mastodon.social I'm still too wary about getting locked into any particular vendor's ecosystem. I would rather keep my eggs in different baskets.
