Oskar im Keller

One of the two baby starlings found their way back to their nest. The other one seems a bit clumsier and is still exploring the open beams and glass roof elements without finding the one crack that leads back to their siblings. This must be the one we observed yesterday, as they were trying to enter the nest very awkwardly and uncoordinated. #birds #BirdsOfMastodon #starling

Update: the little #starlings seem to have figured out how they can get from their nest behind the gutter to the big room inside the house and back to the nest. Also, they seem to think that the place is ideal to exercise their flying skills. We did offer them water and open windows, and have told our landlord that he might want to fix the wall rather soon so that no other animals get stuck inside the house. #birds #BirdsOfMastodon

@stefanlindbohm @jon @Jonas_Bostrom Hm, I have an interrail ticket waiting for an interesting trip. The only problem would be that getting to one of the starting points first and getting back home from the destination might eat up more days than I have bought on the pass. Why didn't you call this challenge back when Interrail passes were sold at a discount?!

@CanuckistanBob@cosocial.ca This. ⬆️ is probably also interesting for @docjosiahboone@wien.rocks, @mimrma@mastodon.wurzelmann.at and @Fischblog@chaos.social

@ShaulaEvans 👀 @lipow should see this ⬆️ and might have a network of translators here.

@FediFollows@social.growyourown.services Maybe @gombang@social.nancengka.com and @skinnylatte@hachyderm.io have some more Indonesian accounts among their followers? Then @FediFollows@social.growyourown.services could add some accounts to this list that are not just weather forecast accounts. #Indonesia #TootSEA

@Fiona Oh, I'm sure that @Fischblog could think of a thing or two...

@azonenberg 👀 @Fischblog might enjoy this thread and the comments.

@franebleu@mastodon.social 👀 @BlumeEvolution@sueden.social ⬆️

@alice@lgbtqia.space @freakonometrics@mastodon.social Thanks for the transcript! Great speech!

@kendraserra@dair-community.social 👀 @neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk you might enjoy this.

Und ein Heißluftballon schwebt über die Stadt...

@tarakiyee@tante might be interested in this as well.

@darryl @nf3xn Thanks for the explanation.

@sunflowerinrain@mastodon.online @randahl@mastodon.social But if I concentrate on reading a text aloud properly, I have very little mental capacity left to analyze what I'm reading at the same moment. It already was a struggle at school, when a teacher asked me to read out and then summarize a text in class.

#SynchronousScating

@ascherbaum @truls46 Danke, das ist sehr hilfreich!

@jon @Jonas_Bostrom If you continue from Köln to Aachen you can catch the early morning ICE to Brussels Midi that connects to the morning TGV to Montpellier SdF - the one train that goes directly South. On the way you could change to the Perpignan line in Lyon, Avignon (they even have a train route between Avignon TGV and Avignon Centre) or Nimes, timetables allowing.

@sunflowerinrain@mastodon.online With foreign language texts I concentrate fully on proper pronunciation, so no brain power available for the content. With texts in my own language it's also about making it "sound good". I understand some of it, of course, but not enough to analyze it. However, if I had to hold a speech, I'd read the manuscript before & change it if necessary (for better flow, clearer wording, etc). I'd never want to read an automatically written text without being able to check it first.

@nf3xn All fingers but not the thumb? Otherwise I get base 14.

@crazyeddie@mastodon.social By now proven to be a hoax, as much as it sounded sadly believable https://www.platformer.news/fake-uber-eats-whisleblower-hoax-debunked/ #hoax

@jon @Jonas_Bostrom Okay, it feels shorter, but as you say, that doesn't count.

@davidlohner @nSonic @Taotica Das klingt sehr nervig.
