If none of these steps reset mouse, put it in a charging bay over night.

@ada this! als studentin hatte diese maus mal für eine weile eine alte externe platte als backup-platte und auf die ist dann irgendwann mal im laufenden betrieb was gefallen, was sie gecrasht hat. für den rest des studiums konnte sich maus keine neue backupplatte leisten und hat dann gegen ende auch mal ordentlich daten verloren, die richtig weh getan haben.
in der situation hätte maus den spruch zum anlass genommen, irgend was nach der person zu werfen.

@little_foxtoy@bark.lgbt wo don't have first hand experience but some things that would for sure help make it smoother: let her signpost it internally so that you and the others know for sure that's what she wants. try making it fair e.g. offering a limited time with the option to extend, so it doesn't feel like a coup. be ready and accepting of the role (which I suppose you are already) and listen to feedback once you're hosting.

@daniel Yes! I hope cases of abuse from less privileged individuals can still be taken seriously in a framework that leans so much on privilege. Privilege is not an absolute value per person but more a parameter space, power dynamics are complex, and victims should be believed beyond an apparent privilege gradient.
