Insane list. Look at the IMDB Top 250 filtered by “after 2000” and you’ll notice the obvious omissions: Avatar: The Last Airbender at number 6 Attack on Titan at number 16 Firefly at number 39 Taskmaster at number 43 These are just a couple examples in different categories. Anime fans immediately noticed that no anime made the list at all, despite 10 being in the IMDB top 100. Western animation fans might have seen that Bojack Horseman made the list, but Avatar didn’t (or if the editor filtered for “adult animation”, Rick and Morty (#22) didn’t). There’s really no excuse for these, there is no consistent rule that would exclude any of these shows. NYT readers must live in the dark timeline where fun is outlawed and Taskmaster was cancelled after one series.

Norway has opened a new memorial for the 77 victims of the country's deadliest terror attack in peacetime, days before its 15th anniversary. On 22 July 2011, neo-Nazi Anders Breivik killed eight people with a car bomb in Oslo and shot dead another 69 - mostly teenagers - at a youth camp on Utoeya island. Hundreds more were injured in Norway's worst atrocity in recent history. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c07r9m22gyyo #terror #Norway #Memorial #22.07.2011 #violence #BBC

Now I've moved on to early issues of TSR's next publication, the much longer-lived Dragon magazine. Several pages in the issue I'm looking at (#22, February 1979) are just lists of home addresses of people who are willing to be DMs. That's not shocking for the time; everybody's address was in the phone book, after all. I'm just imagining the absolute nuclear freakout that would ensue if a company published something like this today https://archive.org/details/DragonMagazine260_201801/DragonMagazine022/mode/1up
