@virtulis@loud.computer
mastodon 4.8.0-alpha.3+glitch
  • Open on loud.computer

Hi, I'm Danko, 37, from Riga, 🇱🇻 #Latvia

Mostly #webdev, mostly #TypeScript, sometimes #Rust. Curly braces, semicolons, tabs. #Linux noob since 2005.

Cishet white dude, atheist, left-ish. ADHD + MDD.

I like loud electronic music, twin-stick shooters and cats.

The avatar is me rudely pointing at the viewer (since 2006). The header image is the This Is Fine dog saying "Sorry, something went wrong."

If I should've boosted your picture that I liked, it's quite likely that you should've put alt text on it.

@felisrandomis@pawb.fun these are the actual ads for the billboard company (that euroawk in the corner). We had them here a long time ago (localized) and yeah, first you snort, then you gotta admire the creativity.

@felisrandomis@pawb.fun the only picture I found is from a 2015 article about their (local branch?) going out of business. (No i didn't miss the doodle, it's a great doodle!)

@jonny@neuromatch.social you will probably need to continue to act as the designated dimwit for a few years until everyone forgets about it. The rest of us get to say we never cared and just really needed the money. In this economy, who could blame us! But hey, that's why you get the big bucks!

@Meyerweb frankly, I haven't seen a single layout system that comes even close to CSS in at least versatility or reliable defaults, let alone both. Even imitations like QML break apart on most trivial things.

@eltonfc and for some verbs imperative makes no sense to me at all. Surely, when I click "rename file" the actual command is "present me with an input field to enter a new name"? I'm the one doing the renaming. The stupid piece of metal is just logging my actions to the best of its ability.

@ailurux@chaos.social would you be interested in reverse engineering some software and firmware? (remotely, yes. I got root ssh on the thing and the embedded part even decompiles to something half-readable, but there's also a shitty windows program that sends stuff directly to a fpga)

@scrublordnito@tech.lgbt meh, it's a thing that does a thing. What did it even stand for in the first place. Application of what to what!? Like, if it's "application of computer for a task" then yeah all of those are apps. There have always been more specific words anyway.

It's not obvious how good Balatro is until you see 20 different people try to make "Balatro, but" and fail every damn time.

Which sucks because I really wanted to play a "Balatro, but" but they're all so boring and broken and it breaks my heart because people clearly tried.

Yes, I do have a favorite seat. No, it's not OCD. By which I mean specifically that me having OCD and me having a favorite seat (which happens to be the same between B737 and A220) is entirely unrelated. Probably.

TWIMC, if you use #Jetbrains IDE's on #Wayland and have had random apps randomly go to shit over the last few weeks, it's likely this https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-10393/WLToolkit-shared-memory-wlbuffer-leak-in-dev-shm-under-long-sessions
