The motor can't run without orphan blood. The Founding Fathers were scared of democracy, and specifically built this machine to prevent the people from ever truly threatening their concentrated power and wealth. When they rebelled against monarchs, it wasn't rulers they had a problem with-- they just didn't want to be ruled by some random jackass crowned by mere accident of birth. They wanted power in the hands of people who proved themselves SUPERIOR to others in a big elitist contest of popularity and wealth. "Created equal" doesn't mean to imply anybody stays that way. Rich white landowning males are obviously more equal than others, and a bunch of genocidal war profiteering rapist planetwreckers-- that's who was in charge then, and who's in charge now, it never stopped-- are not going to just let us VOTE away their stranglehold. It's going to take fundamental change that actually breaks this system, to build something profoundly new.

To white liberals he's a normal background fixture. They don't have strong opinions about him. He is not beloved, just familiar. Many would notice him being gone. He hasn't offended anyone enough (by saying anything meaningful or important) to draw controversy, so his blandness actually draws broader support. Those same people would much more readily accept the disappearance of an edgier, less white person with much less fuss-- because that injustice, itself, would seem more normal to them.
