@domi@donotsta.re @a1ba@suya.place it was almost certainly caused by a bitflip or something of the sort (my disk is not of the highest quality). its not bust in the “the data is inconsistent” way, its bust in the “postgres itself throws an exception” way.
i have it on my todo list to do a dump and restore (ive actually already done the first step of transferring it to a different pc to do that) but any of the read commands will also just crash when they get to that record as well iirc so i couldnt get far

@thunfisch@chaos.social i actually didnt paste it i wrote it by hand. anyways i dont think more features are necessary for any productive use-case, thusly i assume the use-case here is unproductive (which checks out considering corporate use) which means i cannot be of assistance. best thing i can recommend is to continue using gitlab but never updating it again. if it works it works

@domi@donotsta.re @a1ba@suya.place i do but none worth restoring atp, this happened significantly over a year ago and federation would murder my instance if i went back to that. im scraping by by updating the code selectively to fix critical problems without adding new migrations, and will probably soon be bored enough to attempt some things with the file again
