Yesterday I had 3 apps in top 20 charts on the MAS at once. I feel like I'm succeeding at this, we'll see how long it keeps up. TerminalWidget is still in #1 Paid Developer Tools 😁.
Someone(s) destroyed 7 Flock cameras in my town and I think they deserve a party and a medal.
Acorn from Flying Meat has always been amazing. On my mind today because if you're creating screenshots for a Mac app, its ability to capture the entire screen as a layered image where you can drag windows around, hide windows and elements, etc. is friggin' outstanding.
For those listening to Ben and @daringfireball@mastodon.social on Dithering, he was talking about nvALT, not nvUltra. nvUltra should be out in the next 2 months and is NOT open source. nvALT will probably be updated for Silicon around the same time, for those who prefer to just keep using it.
NV has had some PRs submitted for Apple Silicon conversion, easy to pull from the upstream, if you know what you're doing and want to do it yourself. I'm confident nvUltra is different enough and better in many ways that will make it a worthwhile switch for nvALT users. We'll see.
I’m officially announcing FileRouter today, and it's available now at https://filerouter.app. I won't be doing any major marketing until the Setapp version is available and I have time to launch on Product Hunt, but if you're interested, you can grab it now.
It was a bi-lateral day. Got both sides of my big toe nail cut out and treated with some chemical so they don’t grow back, and then an hour later I was on a table getting shots through both sides of a vertebrae. Hopefully all this will be a good thing.
The more I learn about LastPass the more I full-throatedly support 1Password.
Added some utility functions like “Open in Terminal” (with configurable terminal app) and “Reveal in Finder" to the latest version of FileRouter. Check it out at https://filerouter.app
My feelings haven’t changed in the last 30 years.
I'm calling the macOS version of TerminalWidget done. Working on the iOS version this week. Added a video to the homepage showing a lot of its functionality, in addition to the full widget gallery. Check it out!
users->figlet, cal, network speeds, time machine progress, API check, a prompt hook that updates the one in the lower left every time I change directories in Terminal and shows me my next actions (using NA), and a few showing output from my Doing project at different sizes/formats.
Submitted to TestFlight this morning to find out how much of this Apple will let me get away with.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out https://terminalwidget.app
After many a years of being who I'm known as today, it always surprises me when people are surprised that I'm as helpful as I can be to anyone who asks. Conversely, I'm surprised by people who feel they need to attack me in order to get help or support, which fortunately is less common.
Just realized the excellent @murmel_social@mastodon.social is available for Bluesky with your same account. If you're looking for a digest of all the links on your timeline (Bluesky and/or Mastodon) or popular with friends (Bluesky), it's worth checking out. Daily digests in your inbox.
Lately on the blog: One more for the road: FileRouter
Lately on the blog: Better Graffiti for Moe
I'll come back and finish this once Marked 3, nvUltra, and BlogBook are live, but here's what I've been working on for a while now:
(big missing video at the top will show the CLI updating the macOS widgets, and maybe how they're mirrored to iOS)
I’m talking, surprise, Markdown at Macstock this year. Use code ttscoff for a discount on tickets.

I dropped my MBP and broke the screen yesterday. I ssh’d in and made sure all my git repos and dotfiles were pushed, and that my clone drive was up to date. Don’t know why hooking up an external display wouldn’t work, but did eventually get screen sharing to work.
Now I get to find out how useful AppleCare+ actually is.
Added a matrix mode to terminal-widget. Just pass it a series of integers and it will map them with the highest value being solid and the lowest value being .1 alpha. Everything else gets alpha mapped in between.
Watching old Stephen Wright clips and imagining Steven Miller delivering those lines. I think it could work as an alternate career.
Let’s take a moment to silently imagine a middle eastern zombie hopping around with a basket of unfertilized ova.
Nice new feature available in the latest Hookmark beta:

Cleans tracking and other cruft from any link you copy. Kind of like the StretchLink app I built but retired (not to be confused with http://stretchlink.cc, which is a similar but different project of mine).
Got my 50th reverse rainbow in Connections today.
Added stenosis to my list of diagnoses today. It’s a long list.
