One can use AI as an adjunct to therapy (not a replacement for a human) for many reasons, including that it is expert in many different approaches (e.g., emotion-focused therapy, metacognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, etc.) So (depending on your level of knowledge) you can ask it to take whatever approach you want. Then you can use `Hook to New` to create a bidirectionally linked ('hooked') note in the app of your choice. For me it's #omnioutliner, #nvUltra and @bbedit@mastodon.social; for many people it's #obsidian or #Agenda.
Is anyone really here. I post and radio silence. I'm spending more and more of my time on Substack. Deep knowledge-intense posts. Nice interactions. No offence but...
I disagree with Cal Newport : Email can be deep work. I do some of my most important thinking writing deep messages to colleagues. I plan to write about that later.
Yesterday, Mark Bernstein ( @eastgate@c.im ) —the developer of #Tinderbox and editor of #Winterfest https://www.artisanalsoftwarefestival.com/—posted [on X](https://x.com/eastgate/status/2003239136812237221) posted about his new article, [Is the golden age of Indie software over? ](https://successfulsoftware.net/2025/12/22/is-the-golden-age-of-indie-software-over/) [which I highly recommend].
This led to an exchange on bookmarking, which I also captured on our Blog:
In 2010 I told Steve Jobs Apple needed system-wide linking — Quick Note fell short, but Hookmark delivers the vision: https://hookproductivity.com/blog/2025/09/quick-note-on-macos-still-limited-in-2025/
I will submit a paper contextual information retrieval systems backed by #AI @HUMAN 2025 @ACM . Think Hookmark with AI (coming soon). @clausatz@hci.social
@OmniGroup Your newsletter comes at just the right frequency, packed with helpful info. This year is my 20-year anniversary of using The Omni Group software (started with OmniGraffle and OmniOutliner, which I still use regularly). Hookmark's annotated screenshots are done with OmniGraffle. When I'm facing a creative task, I do Hook to New > OmniOutliner doc.

Why You Can't Say AI Is—or Is Not—Intelligent https://luccogzest.substack.com/p/why-you-cant-say-ai-isor-is-notintelligent This article draws on 3 decades of my research, and heavily on others.
I’m a big admirer of Ron Burnett, former president of Emily Carr University of Art and Design. So when I saw that he had written a biography of learning, I bought it and delved it. May I ask, what are your plans for presenting at conferences on diagrammatic reasoning in next year?

@MilekPl@sciences.social what are your thoughts on Sloman's Diagrams in the Mind article? https://cogaffarchive.org/sloman.diagbook.pdf I've started a project on diagrammatic reasoning (analogically reasoning to be more precise). I will include that in productive practice work such as [my learning from Fictopoiesis article in progress for bibliotherapy of all things](https://luccogzest.substack.com/p/productive-practice-driven-fictopoeisis)
I will be interviewed today by NPR about the cognitive shuffle for their mid-day show. The cognitive shuffle is a technique I invented, based on my sleep onset and insomnolence theory, to faciliate sleep
